Kayla Reyes says she interviewed for a job on the sales floor at Fresno's Fashion Fair mall in February but was told that she wouldn't be able to relate to customers because she had seen combat.
Reyes, who enlisted in the military at the age of 17, claims that the interview took a turn for the worse when her 4-year army career came up and that the hiring manager said, 'Being that you've been over there, you wouldn't really know how to approach people.'

I think this person at Macy’s is going to know what a ton of bricks feels like.
Some military jobs don’t translate well to civilian jobs. Bomb loaders is a good example for the USAF. A four year hitch in a non translatable job is usually a sure fire way to end up on the soup line. Some troopers get out before they acquire a good job skill set.
Lol. I seem to boycott every place that doesn’t have ammo.
I’m in before the attacks on your post. I agree with you.
She could do well using her skills to work in the private security industry. But, Macy’s can go to hell.
Nauseating.But not surprising.
Whatever went on, it now seems she has probably been done a great favor, and he is probably looking for work.
The CDC for Ms Reyes? Hell, yes! Better pay....WAY better bennies!
The Corrections Dept union owns the ruling Demrat politicians in
California. Macys PROSPECTIVE customers come and go.
Correctional Officers have a captive clientele. Macys.....best job
she never got.
‘Being that you’ve been over there, you wouldn’t really know how to approach people.’

“You ‘may’ be right pal!! However,
The way I am controlling myself to NOT use my training on your sorry ass really does prove I should have YOUR job, and in actuality, have learned how to deal with assholes like you in Real Time.”
“During the holidays, the lines for the Walnut Room were huge. The Christmas tree was beautifully decorated. The stores windows were full of wintry scenes and mechanical figures.”
A trip down memory lane. The Marshall Field’s store is an architectural marvel. And lunch in the Walnut Room at Christmas time was a visual marvel with its giant Christmas tree in the center of the room, all decorated and glittery (the food was good too). The window scenes were such a delight, and people on the street would stop and press their noses up against the windows (well not quite literally) and smile and light up with happiness at the moving figures, each window a different Christmas scene, a true feast for the eyes right before them. I was one of those window watchers, and people would wait with anticipation each Christmas to see what that year’s scenes would be.
And the chocolate Frango mints that used to be made right at the store. When Macy’s took over Marshall Field’s they stopped making them in the downtown store; however they are still being made elsewhere and sold by Macy’s stores using the same candy recipe and are still delicious.
The resistance to Macy’s taking over Chicagoland Marshall Field’s stores was great at the time, in particular the jewel in the crown, the downtown State Street store. But alas, Macy’s took over nevertheless. People have gotten used to it now, but there are still diehard Marshall Field’s forever types who cling onto the memories of the wonderful Marshall Field’s store in Chicago, particularly around Christmas time. It was part of our Chicago heritage, and when a New York interloper, Macy’s, came and bought them out, it didn’t set well with Chicagoans who saw Marshall Field’s as part of Chicago history as well as a place to shop. But the store itself is still standing, one can still shop in it, and that is a good thing.
>> My wife shops at all the places I boycott.
LOL... that can be a problem.
If a university like Harvard can reject our troops, why not Macy’s?
She can work at any embassy or consulate in the world as a security consultant.
Eff Macey’s. They are poofters as well as leeches on America.
My shopping ends when she gets into her car a drives there.
“Not only is the red star a turn-off, but also the prices.... way way overpriced.”
Yeah; I already boycott Macy’s the way I boycott Lamborghini. Wasn’t going to happen anyway...
Macy’s is part of Target stores out of Minnesota/ remember Target around Christmas with the debit/credit card issue of being hacked. macy is just a glorified Target Store which supports a diversified workforce for homosexuals. The soldier was too straight for Macy’s
Yes...gives the lie to that stupid woman who said she cannot relate because of war zone experience.
After they REJECTED her initially because she was a war zone veteran and her story went viral. It was damage control.
Absolutely correct...the woman who interviewed Reyes is too stupid to hold a job.
Ha ha.
