When NASA astronauts were suiting up to go to space in the 1960s, they had to make a big decision before they explored the world above us: How large of a man are you?
Getting it wrong could damage the mission.

Yeh, back in HS, mama caught a quick glimpse of that ringie thing and the bulge when I opened my wallet. Lead to a “nothing, gotta go mom” reply and hasty exit.
I carried that thing throughout high school. Bought it for 75 cents out of a machine down at the gas station. I don’t recall whatever happened to it. I think it finally fell apart or I traded it.

And where did the first suits come from which used the same relief system? They came from U-2 program which uses the same system to this day. Which is also used when you ferry fighters “across the pond”. Females just wear Depends.

Only 35 years after Tom Wolfe wrote about it in “The Right Stuff”. IIRC, it was “large, larger, largest”.
