Two additional colossal statues of Amenhotep III were unveiled in Luxor yesterday, along with a carved alabaster head from another Amenhotep III statue. Archaeologists say that the severely damaged statues, carved from red quartzite, are now situated on their original sites at the pharaoh’s funerary temple. The first depicts Amenhotep III in a seated position, wearing a royal pleated kilt held at the waist by a decorated belt. The second shows the king standing and has been placed at the north gate of the temple. “The statues had lain in pieces for centuries in the fields, damaged by destructive forces of nature like earthquakes, and later by irrigation water, salt, encroachment and vandalism,” archaeologist Hourig Sourouzian told the Sydney Morning Herald. The alabaster head shows signs of restoration work.

Finally a source with PHOTOS!

I can read the mind of one of the native diggers. His mind says.....”As soon as these unbelievers leave we will fulfill Mohammed’s words and destroy these idols!”

Egyptians who work on the digs typically are all related to each other in some fashion, that’s how they get the job. While they may use Islamic-sounding chants when they’re doing the heavy pulling or lifting, that’s analogous to a chain-gang work song, and isn’t indicative of jihadist tendencies. The reason the Luxor mass-murdering cowardly jihadists got caught is, the local Egyptians who work there, or just live around there, got angry, ran after them, and beat all their asses.

Quartzite is a bit brittle for its weight, so when the quake hit and the statue tipped, it was pretty much over. I doubt that these repairs are going to hold very well, we’re looking at a lot of weight and a lot of nearly-vertical breaks.

Well, if the Muslims don’t do it, the feminists will for the making the man so much bigger than the woman.
