What a gret idea. Take money and wealth from successful people and give it to politicians. Why can’t I dream up great stuff like this?
Well that’s only fair because of the wealth inequality. /s
Emigration.
Why not just seize the homes then let the poor live in them?
Bet the homes would look lovely in no time.
“Inequality” is the new global warming.
The IMF-proposed “mansion tax” is most certainly coming to the US, and everyone in Hollywood, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara and San Francisco are cheering for it. Right?
What will happen when they try to impose this tax on the British Royal Family?
At the same time, they will limit the disposable funds of those who have those valuable homes, which will make them somewhat less inclined to emulate earlier generations of Brits, who provided employment for large numbers of domestics. (Of course, the Welfare State, being based in part on Class Envy, would discourage the beneficiaries from the mindset that respects the success of others; so that fewer Brits would consider such service to the wealthy even a worthy aspiration.)
Suggestion: We need to stop letting those working overtime, to convince others that they have imaginary grievances, get away with their stupid forays against human success.

The IMF would really like to kill the rich and take their stuff, but you can’t expect them to get there in one fell swoop.
The one big constant I can see with ALL governments is that private property is a great ‘concept’. In reality though you can only keep your property if you pay a perpetual ‘tax’ for the right to keep and use it as you see fit.
If these are the type of tax schemes the IMF comes up with while the United States has nominal control of the organization, imagine what will happen when that control is ceded to the poorer countries from the ‘emerging’ world?
That is exactly what the IMF wants to do, increase the “quota” the United States pays into the organization and reduce the amount of control the US has over how the money is spent.
Its called socialism.
