Doe anybody out there KNOW someone who ha signed up and PAID for ObamaCare? The reason why I am asking is that I have asked many people I know and NONE of them have signed up (PAID) for ObamaCare. The closest I come to actually knowing someone who signed up and PAID for ObamaCare is WILLIAM RIVERS PITT and that has turned into a disaster story.
So where are the HHS coming from? Some come from the looky loos. People who merely looked around their website and then split without purchasing. Others come from duplicate (and more) applications of people who tried to sign up and then gave up when they found out the cost. If they tried three or four times, they are probably counted as three or four "enrollments." In fact YOURS TRULY might be counted twice because a couple of times I started filling out the ObamaCare just out of curiously before splitting.
So back to my question: Do any of you know someone who actually signed up (PAID) for ObamaCare?
I do but she’s very dissapointed and is thinking of cancelling.
I know someone who went on the ACA web site. Gave all kinds of personal information and got yelled at by her husband!
I know of only 1 person. He arrived in America from South Africa about 10 years ago. He is Legal, and white (If that has anything to do with it). It has really helped him, so far. He had been diagnosed with skin cancer (pre existing).
I told him he should try and sign up last November. I don’t know if he gets subsidies (We are in Texas), more than likely he does. He is financially strapped and works only part-time, his choice, approximate age 55.
Loves America and probably Obammy, though he knows better than to tell me that, the latter part.
Looky Loos is a very common phrase. I remember the owner of a magazine stand who, when folks spent too much time reading rather than buying the magazine, would yell out something like: “Move along looky loos!”
There must be some people signing up because my Congressman Tim Walz (D) Minnesota, sent me a letter stating that because of the ACA, 50 Million uninsured Americans now will have coverage.
Would he lie to constituents? /SARC
ONE guy. One guy who hired me to sub for his band.
We were talking about our ailments... I told him I’m currently unemployed (except for the occaisional band stuff) and don’t have insurance.
He took the occaision to ‘sell’ me on obamacare. He claimed he only pays $28. a month for it. I told him that I checked it out and there’s NO WAY he’s only paying that.
He snickered and explained that, in order to get such a GREAT rate on the BRONZE plan(sheesh), he has ALL of his assets, his business (the band) and everything else in his ‘wifes’ name. Oh, she’s NOT legally his wife by the way...
They’ve been together for over 20 years but not actually married.
Therefore, he has NO income and NO assets.
I had to ask him: If you have to FUDGE your ENTIRE life like that in order to ‘beat’ the system, how good can the ‘system’ be???
And are you telling me that most of America needs to ‘cheat’ for this thing to work???
He was stuck. Reduced to - “aahhh, hell, it works for me!”
Next topic!
LOLOL....good luck with that. I hear it's like Hotel California....you can check out, anytime, but you can NEVER leave.
It isn’t just about the present number of people who have signed and paid or not paid.
There are those who will find their plans are not what they thought it was and will abandon ObamaCare.
So, if they have 5 million subscribers and about 3 million of them supposedly paid, they will find their churn numbers in the next six months will lower the percentage of paid subscribers, out of all their subscribers.
I think they will find their numbers are abysmal in the 6 months.
They won’t have anywhere near 7 million paid subscribers and may very well have less than the 3 million they have today.
Yes. And she’s been cursing every day since.
We have been trying to get a low income, elderly relative signed up with Covered California, the California ObamaCare now for over a month.
Signed up for the BC/BS Bronze Plan.
Calif Obamacare sent a letter saying Cograds, you now are qualified for 90 days, but we need proof of income.
We both faxed and USPS mailed recent pay checks, W-2s, and finally (reluctantly due to the unsecureness of personal data of ObamaCare), her last income tax forms.
But so far, it has been like throwing stuff into a black hole.
No acknowledgement of any kind.
But we need the income verification to be approved to get the ObamaCare subsidy for her because she was paying $313 per month for $2500 deductible but though grandfathered in, just got notice that starting 1Apr14 her monthly premium was going to be increased 20 percent.
The problem with that is that her income is only about $200 per month (the economy is so good here, that she was cut from 40 hrs/week to 14 and now to 7 hrs/week) at the restaurant where she works as kitchen help/dish washer.
So a 20 percent increase (which coming at the “do or die” time of ObamaCare’s 31March deadline makes me think they are trying to push her off into ObamaCare) is more than she can afford.
And she desperately needs the ObamaCare subsidy as while her regular insurance was $313 per month, the ObamaCare wants about $659 per month.
Kind of tough to do when you do not make that much.
Her husband is still working but has his own Company-plan insurance, but they do not offer reasonable wife/family coverage.
No info on status at her ObamaCare account. The insurance company is supposed to contact her next with how and how much to pay...but nothing is happening and 31March is coming fast,
BTW, expectations that ObamaCare would be a disaster are no surprise. Some years back, here in California, the Dem Party run Calif Govt mandated everyone be offered earthquake insurance.
So they did...but the cost is so high, the coverage is so low and the decuctible is so high that I read the terms and think, “This is some kind of joke, right? Right?”
And they can’t even get 10% of those people signed up.
But, they have no problem seeing millions thrown off the insurance plan they already had in place.
I’m gonna bet of the 3 million paid subscribers they supposedly have that 75-80% of those are from people who lost their prior plan.
They rest are vagrant subscribers who blew a couple bucks and won’t stay.
My brother-in-law said he signed up three months ago. But “hasn’t heard back from anyone.” Not sure what that means but I’m pretty sure he hasn’t paid.
My parents signed up through the exchange. They are both nurses. They are going to be getting a better deal than what is being offered through their jobs.
My New Jersey Blue Cross plan cancelled due to Obummercair. I was able to purchase a new plan from NJ Blue Cross for more than DOUBLE!!!! the previous rate. Of course I received mandatory dental care for children under 19.....which will be helpful since I have ZERO!!!!chilren.
What's their deductible? When does their co pay kick in?
ouch!
my kinda gal!
I have a not so close friend that did.
After pressing him very hard on the issue because he said he is saving a ton of money I found out he’s on medicaid.
Go figure.
I don’t talk to him any more.
