President Obama warned young people that if they don't sign up for Obamacare by March 31, they will face a penalty -- if they can afford it.
During an interview with radio host Ryan Seacrest, Obama explained that young people might be charged a fine if they don't get insured.
"If you can afford it you just decide you don't want to get it because your attitude is 'nothing's ever going to happen to me' then you'll be charged a penalty," Obama explained.
Obama was careful to specify that people who can't afford Obamacare will not suffer a penalty, thanks to a "hardship exemption," but encouraged everyone to sign up.
"[Y]ou never know what kind of curveballs life throws at you, he warned.

Well, I’m not going to pay you a cent, President Stompy Feet.
You can kiss my ass.
Yeh you knuckleheads....and eat your peas and check the air in your tires.
im shaking at the knees with a tingle up my leg
I thought it was a tax. I'm so confused...
But of course the govt ONLY reports that a whole bunch of people have signed up....
Michelle said to tell your son he could get hit by a car....what an awful thing to say....
Your life is over as you know it , Obama is your new Big Daddy
You mean the very zombies that cryed for the little king and helped get him elected? Oh the humanity!
“Scaring the children now with Chicago Thug tactics....”
The urban youth of Chicago know better. Young Jorge or D’shaun knows the girlfriend he knocked up will get free healthcare from the government whether he has purchased insurance or not. Same for the baby. Same for him. If he goes to the hospital with a gunshot or stabbing wound he’ll be stitched up at no cost even if he doesn’t pay or have insurance.
Response from the ghetto youth to Obama, “Who you kiddin man?”
Huh? I thought he just directed “his” IRS to not charge penalties until after the election.
...says the Master of Red Lines... Pffft.
From a recent Forbes article:
For a single person who makes enough in 2014 to file a 1040, the penalty can be as little as $95 or as much as $3,600, depending on income. For families, the penalty is much larger: A couple with two children could owe between $285 and $11,000.
My TaxVox post last November explained what determines the penalty. For low-income households, its a fixed dollar amount: $95 per adult plus $47.50 per child, up to a total of $285. Higher-income families will owe 1 percent of their income (net of specified deductions), up to the average national cost of getting basic (bronze level) insurance coverage for all family members. According to the Urban Institutes Health Policy Center, that coverage will cost about $3,600 per adult plus $1,900 per child in 2014.
The penalty will be higher in subsequent years2 percent of income with a minimum of $325 in 2015 and 2.5 percent of income but at least $695 in 2016 (again with a cap equal to the average premium for bronze plans in each year).
Mob protection tactic.
“Nice place” be a shame to see something happen to it.
I keep getting calls from Benefits line to sign up for Odfumb@$$Care. I answered it finally and pressed number 2 to get on the Do Not call List. So sick of this Piece of Dog Excrement.
I heard of the term "shellacked"
But this is electroplating.,
So, if you work for cash and don’t file taxes, no penalty.
And how do you charge people who simply collect govt benefits rather than work?
This is going to work out quite well.
