As expected, Girls creator/star Lena Dunham got nude on Saturday Night Live this weekend, in one scene mocking the Genesis Eden story, where a partly blurred-out nude Dunham and leaf-covered co-star Taran Killam poked fun at the biblical narrative. Saturday’s episode earned SNL’s second lowest ratings of the year.
"Son of God. Noah," says the narrator. "And now, another extraordinary Biblical film that tells the astonishing story of the Garden of Eden and the Garden of Life itself." Dunham then appears naked. "Adam, Adam, a snake just talked to me. Is that normal?" Dunham says. "Before there were Girls," the narrator says, "there was the first Girl." Taran Killam appears as Adam, and Dunham says, "I just like want to know what we're even doing here. Are we like man and wife?" When Killam responds that Eve was made from his rib, Dunham says, "Oh my God, that is like so sexist, I can't believe you would even bring that up right now. Take a gender and women's studies class!"
When God catches her after eating the apple, she says, "Can you please not apple shame me right now?(continued)

Just saw the clip. They should have pixilated her whole person.
I didn’t see Carson’s sketch or Dunham’s. I don’t know if she was actually mocking God or the Bible. A lot of the humor — if that’s what it is — seems to be directed at her show and the character she plays on it. Her boyfriend on the show (or the actor who plays him, or both) is named Adam, so the sketch pretty much suggested itself. It looks like they were sending up the wave of Biblical films to some degree, but Adam and Eve isn’t really hardcore biblical material, is it?
They need the attention.
I did not know who she was.
It took about five minutes to figure who she wasn’t.
She wasn’t funny.

I watched 5 min of the show.
Total waste of time.
Actually the period where Eddie Murphy, Mike Meirs and a whole bunch of others was considered, at the time, one of the worst groups to work the show. Years later...they are classics.
Sometimes it takes a while to catch up.
But that woman the other night. Not funny. I don’t think she will be funny in several years either.

It was not funny. I guess such pokes about this have been done to death already, but to expect SNL now to make one that’s funny is probably asking too much of the show.
What’s funny is even before the fall Adam and Eve are portrayed as stupid. In fact Adam was still in harmony with God and in fact, was extremely smart and Even should have been as well.
I believe that perhaps it was the fact they may have been so smart that Eve could be argued with and rationalized to, to believe it wasn’t that bad to do, and break the one single rule they had to obey.
Isn’t it the definition of liberals who think they are smarter than everyone else, and rationalize away their breaking of the rules they demand everyone else follow, and have zero tolerance for everyone else who breaks the law?
Ms Dunham has looked in the mirror and is now desperately hoping she can substitute her body for her face. She’s wrong.
I’ve never heard of her either!
