Gravity will take best picture. I’m going out on a limb to say the one upset will be Amy Adams for Best Actress.
Won’t watch it. I expect Ellen Degenerate to drown us with homosexual snide remarks and propaganda all throughout. Any woman who refuses to dress like a woman, and hates men enough to pretend she’s married to a woman, has no place in my house.
I don’t give a flying rat’s ass who wins, nor who or how many OSCAR winners approach the podium and insult America and all it stands for.
I hope the viewership drops a lot this eve.
American Hustle o Captain Phillips o Dallas Buyers Club o Nebraska
All Good movies.
I have not seen the others.
Woo, hoo! The Mutual Admiration Society Festival! Gotta watch and feel envy, y’all!
Was Hillary nominated for her performance in “What Difference Does It Make?”
There's no reason to watch this pap. You'll hear about endlessly in the next few days anyway. So why give ratings to our enemies?
Matthew McConnaughey
Cate Blanchett
Bradley Cooper
Lupita however-you-spell-her-name
Alfonso Cuaron
Gravity....
Oh boy, the Oscars. Navel-gazing writ large.
Unfortunately we already have a pretty good idea of what is winning. My wife and I saw EVERY movie nominated for best picture and every movie that has an actor or actress attached to a movie nominated.
The following is my take on the movies:
The Wolf of Wall Street - A typical Leo movie that was overblown but kinda fun.
Her - interestingly weird and a bit disturbing
Nebraska - Way better than I though. It was a cute little movie
Philamena - A good movie fair too all sides. I was nervous about the Catholic part of the movie but they portrayed them fairly and it is a true story.
Dallas Buyers Club - This movie could have been cancer, parkinson’s, any disease movie could have worked.
Gravity - Most boring movie ever! Hated every minute of it.
Blue Jasmine - Very disappointed. I was not thrilled about it.
Captain Phillips - Luckily I saw this on Amazon Instant Video for a one day rental, I started the film, watched 51 minutes and then fast forwarded it to the last 20 minutes. Saw enough and was not overly impressed.
American Hustle - Fun movie but so many movies have been made of the same vain.
August Osage County - Very disappointed in this film. Bunch of people yelling at each other. Typical Streep movie
12 Years a Slave - Good Lord the best movie of the year. It was intriguing and interesting and kept my interest throughout. Deserves every award it was given.
I hope that 12 years a slave win Best Movie. Matthew as Best Actor. Jered Ledo as Supporting Actor. I would love Jennifer to get her second oscar in a row but the possibility is going down. 12 Years a slave actress will most likely win it .her role was much harder to do then Jennifers by a long shot. I would love Amy Adams to win the Best Actress, but it will go to Cate Blanchett for SOME REASON unknown to me.
The rip off of the year was Saving Mr. Banks .My wife and I loved this movie so much. I would say second to 12 years a slave. I don’t know why they didn’t pick this film. I didn’t want to go but we were late for another film and ended up having to see this one. So glad that we did. Outstanding!!!!!
Biggest correct decision of the year. Leaving The Butler out of the nominations. Next to 12 years a slave, it made The Butler look like a high school performance. Oprah was awful. I don’t even know why they were even whispering such nonsense.
If you’ve got any kid in you then Pacific Rim was by far the best movie out this year.
Gravity was average at best, same with Captain Phillips.
Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock have jumped the shark. There was no character in either character.
Not much discussion on the documentaries this year:
The Act of Killing
Cutie and the Boxer
Dirty Wars
The Square
20 Feet from Stardom
Let me just say that I do not give one hoot what these elitists in Hollywierd do tonight.
Thanks for the thread... every year, I wonder if anyone will do it?
I don’t go to movies anymore as I do not want to fund LEFT WING COMMIE politics.
FUBO, you scum
Facebook is starting to post pics of female stars I’ve never heard of on the red carpet in front of the advertising wall. Looking at those expensive dresses I note that black is the new black.
I’ve long predicted that the winners will be those entertainment products that professional reviewers here and elsewhere have articulately described as “amazing”, “awesome”, “incredible” and “it makes you think”, without ever telling us what it makes you think, so I’ve had to assume that it makes you think that it makes you think. Oh, and the acceptance speeches will be as always just “amazing”!
Did the “amazing” white guilt tearjerker win, or what?
At work for the next couple of hours so just checking this thread every five or ten minutes - when category is announced please let me know and I’ll update the link on my computer to follow the winners. Unlike Drudge, I don’t think it updates automatically, but I could be wrong.
Thanks ...
