No, inside, so I don't freeze.
The plants will be ok out in the cold frame. I had a couple of rolls of regular house insulation that I used on it yesterday because I knew this was coming.
On the positive side, this should be the last hurrah for the cold weather here. By the end of the month, there won't be any more freezing days.

Wind at the airport is 17mph, with gusts of 30. Some ice west of us. 33 at the airport, 36 here.

We need to get you some firewood. That is the second time this winter you have entertained the idea of burning the baby grand. That piano has survived The Civil War, two world wars, no telling how many marriages, been shot at, serenaded, held babies, and prophesied a zombie apocalypse. It ain’t no time to burn the piano.
You just need Spring.

I've got the electric blanket pre-heating the bed. I'm ready to sleep through all this cold.
The piano is probably safe, since I'd have to get out of this warm spot to break it up. And the axe is out in the shop. No way I'm going out there.

For the sugar, Ive followed the recipe from memory, Ive followed the recipe from the book, Ive followed the recipe from a different book, and another book, Wow, that is all quite maddening, isn't it?
I would try a different brand of yeast, and also, bread flour. I, too use King Arthur flour for bread, but most of my bread starts with a poolish, that sets overnight.
My grandmother used pullman pans to bake her sandwich loaves. She made the worst bread. I'm surprised her twelve children survived on her horrible, heavy breads.

You might be having the weather I had yesterday. It was sleeping weather. But the good thing - with the wind and cold, was the best rain since last summer. I hope you also get precipitation.

Now that I've insulted my dead Grandmother, I will add that maybe old German women just liked heavy dense bread. I always thought it was so awful because her sandwich bread recipe had milk in it.
Also, maybe she actually thought those refrigerator no bake oatmeal cookies really were my favorite..or maybe she was trying to poison me with them.

Depends on which recipe I’m going by at that particular moment.

Youve eaten wild hog? Not yet, I haven't. I'm waiting for the opportunity to bag one though.

Here I am smack dab in the middle of another deep freeze with Snain still coming down. Only a little over 2 weeks till spring.
Here’s hoping that this will be the last of the artic blasts, but we have been known to have snow in April. They had a 7 hr shut down of I70 last night.

Thanks for posting the link. It depends on the plant how far back you count. For tomatoes I use a 4 to 6 week time period.

I have a rhubarb plant that went to seed last year... anybody ever germinate and start rhubarb seeds? Is it a good cool weather starter?
My plants themselves are already all starting to send out shoots...

We are at 10 degrees, and the “snow” is still falling. It is so fine it’s almost like a mist right now. Stayed in all day today.
Will have to get some dogfood tomorrow. My dog has not been feeling well, and the dry dog food she usually eats is not agreeing with her. So I am going to have to get some canned dog food tomorrow.
I feed her some rice and chicken today.
