One more big myth I would like to explode: Organic foods are healthier than non organic foods. Wrong! Just more expensive.

Never met a healthy looking vegan. They all look sickly.

From the Ron Swanson grilling website:
“If you are hungry for more food after you finish eating your meat, then grill more meat. Do not resort to vegetables.”

The biggest problem with meat consumption in (at least) the U.S. is the the final product is so bastardized from its natural state I do not consider it healthy.

We feed dead & diseased animals, along with their manure, to other animals (who, themselves, are not normally meat-eaters, to boot).

We pump livestock and/or poultry full of antibiotics, growth hormones, anti-parasitic drugs & other fun stuff.

We add bleach (among other chemicals) to store-bought beef, poultry & fish to make it look prettier.

I could go on.

Strangely enough, meat is often blamed for Western diseases like heart disease and type 2 Diabetes. Heart disease didn’t become a problem until the early 20th century and type 2 diabetes only a few decades ago...These diseases are new… but meat is an old food.

True enough. But till recently financial considerations made meat a relatively unusual food for most people.

Only the nobility and wealthy ate large amounts of meat, historically speaking.

So they might want to study, if they can, the rates of heart disease in the wealthy vs. most people in the past.

Also, diabetes is not a new disease. Hippocrates and Galen described it quite accurately, though of course they didn't understand the cause.

Vegans are monsters.

Animals can move about, plants can not.

Vegans rip plants from Gaia's womb.

Vegans are monsters.

There’s one of them hipster vegans here at work.
I asked him if he wanted a bite of my burger. He is not the kind of ‘in-your-face’ vegan like some. He knows I know the answer to that question but he plays along anyway.

(But I could see the look in his eyes - he wanted to answer ‘yes. yes I do.’)

It is a horrible existance. It sucks. WHY? Why do that? Why do something you hate and then pretend to like it to be trendy and hipster? Admit it. You hate it. It sucks!

Most vegans do it simply because its hipster to do it. Its in style and they make every attempt to make sure EVERYONE knows it.
I never bring up in casual conversation that I eat meat. Most vegans tell you twenty five times in the first 5 seconds of knowing them. And you are supposed to say something like, “oh thats cool”. They will not stop until you respond positively and tell them how upworldly trendy they are.

The Old saying = How can you tell a person is a vegan? You don’t have to. He will tell you. ...and your friends, and your friends’ friends, and anyone in earshot over and over and over again.

“It is true that Hindu vegans living in certain parts of India do not suffer from vitamin B12 deficiency. This has led some to conclude that plant foods do provide this vitamin. This conclusion, however, is erroneous as many small insects, their feces, eggs, larvae and/or residue, are left on the plant foods these people consume, due to non-use of pesticides and inefficient cleaning methods. This is how these people obtain their vitamin B12. This contention is borne out by the fact that when vegan Indian Hindus later migrated to England, they came down with megaloblastic anaemia within a few years. In England, the food supply is cleaner, and insect residues are completely removed from plant foods (16).”

Interesting info about meat and osteoporosis. I remember when Bill Walton became a vegan during his bb career, and he was always breaking bones. Correlation does not mean causation, but I remember reading the comments of a doctor who examined Walton’s feet and stated he thought it sure looked like osteopororis to him. Walton later came down with severe back problems as well as his other ailments. Did his vegan diet lead to his problems with breaking bones? Nothing was ever proved, but I’m wondering if Walton thought about the possible ill effects of veganism.

No one would doubt for a moment that eating meat can be harmful if he’d spent as many years as I have in Cheeseburgers Anonymous....
