Sounds like they’re planning a scrimmage. Gag.

There are at least a hundred better players sitting in Europe or in the NBA’s inactive league....who’d be in better shape and likely be a lower-wage choice. Other than headlines for ten games....I don’t see much advantage for the Nets. Maybe it’ll pull another 3,000 fans into the arena.

People will want to go to a game to see a homosexual? Sounds like a circus attraction - fire-eating man or sword-swallower. Okay, maybe bad analogy.

Politically correct professional sports. The NFL is passing a rule change that a team will be penalized 15 yards for uttering “offensive “ comments on the field. It will be interesting to monitor the ratings. Sadly America is a culture in decline and decadent. Free speech is being limited in every venue possible.

Anyone else hear the clip of Michael Sam saying he simply wants to be known as a football player, not a gay football player?

I hate to say it...but the Nets would get some additional fans to the arena....just to see a gay player. Figure....give the guy eight minutes in the first half and another eight in the second half. Folks get to see ‘their’ guy, and they spend $180 on tickets, parking, beer, and hotdogs per person. Figure at least one thousand per night for the likely ten games that he’s around, and that’s just over a million in extra capital from just some gay guy on the court.

If you signed up some lesbian Chinese gal to play with the Knicks....same deal.

We could have an entire season with twenty teams signing a player here and there....the blind guy, the leper, the trans-gender, the illegal Latino, the lost cousin of Larry Bird, and WWE-wrestler-pretending-to-be-a-Laker.

Gimmicks work. That’s the American way.

Since Bird and crew left...the NBA is a gimmick, and not worthy of some $75 ticket. I could take the best NCAA team out there today, and wage a fierce game against the average NBA teams...and win the vast majority of time.

The NBA ought to downsize because it’s got so few quality players.

I wonder who's going to be the judge of "offensive comments" uttered on the field in the heat of play?

Will it be referees who have been forced to attend classes on correct football jargon at an "Obama Re-Education Camp for Football Referees"?

I foresee no one attending pansy pro football games anymore even if it was to watch the Chicago Bears playing the Twelve Apostles.

The Germans have a neat way of handling team movements in soccer. The league has 18 teams. The worst of them (the three worst) at the end of the season....get sent into the second league (less pay, less benefits). The best of the 2nd league? They get sent up to the top league....better pay, etc.

The NBA needs to try something like this...just to intimidate the forever-loser teams into doing something or going to a lesser league.

Although a Boston sports fan, I listen to a New York sports talk (WFAN) on the radio to and from work because it's a good sports station and I'm a big sports fan.
Last week it was all "Michael Sam" all the time, this morning it was all "Jason Collins".
I'm bloody sick of it.
Final straw was when someone mentioned Jackie Robinson and Jason Collins in the same sentence - and the host was OK with that.
Robinson is an American hero and a great Christian role-model - Collins is a media whore degenerate, along with the radio hosts who encourage crap like this.
Despicable!
