Michael Hathaway, author of 10 books on psychic development, past lives, regression, hypnosis and spirituality, and a board certified Past Life Regression Therapist is one of the most respected hypnotists in the country. The Soul is perhaps one of the most misunderstood and highly controversial topics for mankind to ponder. Soul expands across all aspects of human activity, from science to religion to spirituality to death and salvation, the complexity of the soul is a subject we examine with wonder and awe, yet without sure conviction.
Psychology is defined as “the study of the soul” yet doctors have trouble defining the Soul. Webster’s defines soul as “the immortal essence, animating principle, or an activating cause of an individual life”. But medical science is divided between the soul/mind and the brain/consciousness as the essence of the human psyche. In 1901 Dr. Duncan MacDougall determined that the soul weighed 21 grams by weighing dying patient’s right before and right after death.
If it’s true that the soul lives after death of the physical body and is immortal, than we also have to examine reincarnation, which incidentally was banned by the Council of Nice in 553 AD. In the most compelling scientific evidence to date validating reincarnation, Dr. Ian Stevenson documented over 3,000 cases of children who remembered their past lives. In his study the children’s stories were validated, yet even this irrefutable proof is viewed with conjecture by modern neuroscientists.
Except one, Dr. Eben Alexander, a Harvard educated neurosurgeon, who after his own near death experience now supports that the soul is separate from the human body and is a true entity, as outlined in his book Proof Of Heaven. His organization Eternea is the frontier science that will identify that we exist after physical death eternally. The Soul is our essence, and, as Edgar Cayce says, we are spiritual beings having a human experience not human beings having a spiritual experience. The soul’s evolution is always towards God and away from material gains. The Soul has sensations and thoughts, desires and beliefs, and performs intentional actions.
As our bodies wear out, the soul seeks periods of rest and reflection. Supporters of alien origin and existence propose that the soul differentiates the human race from other species and is highly regarded by other civilizations. Yet even while the other species look upon our gift of the soul with envy and admiration, our science and religions relentlessly diminish the knowledge of how to use the soul as our opportunity to grow and to align with the creator. The Wingmakers describe human beings as a race of “soul carriers” and propose that this century will be the discovery of the scientific proof of the existence of the Soul or the Grand Portal. Further, that the soul is a fragment of original source or light that we are all a part of and that our human experience is a small part of our existence and, in reality, is a search for unity.

I’m teaching a course on this at Duke University this spring. It is scientific, but not the way it is approached by psychological studies. It is pure science.
What do you see when you look at Obama’s eyes?
Do you have thoughts on a person where each of their eyes holds a different look? I ask because I note Obama’s right eye is Idi Amin’ish, the left, not as much.

Most of the folks are not ready for that. Nor reincarnation either.
21 grams is the weight of 14.7 liters of molecular oxygen. That is way too large a volume for a person to expel in one breath.
Wow, everyone seems to need to believe this guy is a crackpot. But why? Jesus said we have souls, this guy is validating that. Where’s the problem? Reincarnation? The miracle is that God incarnated us the first time - additional times would be easy once He got some practice in. It’s all one long lifetime for the soul, though, because you’re either with God or you’re not. Of course, eternal hell gets replaced by an almost eternal hell. But that makes more sense for a God of Love to most people. And as for those who do a head count and say that there are too many people and animals now to make up the few in the past, I say read “Forbidden Archeology” - and contemplate the number of stars in the sky.
I would say that evil is a part of the soul and also has weight. Thus, O$hithead in the White Hut should weigh a ton or more.

Yet that is not what we see. 95% of all animals and people that have ever lived are alive today. For example: In 100 AD there were about 200 million humans on Earth. today there are over 7 Billion.
The universe is vast and mind is not limited to this planet.
another reason for the lack of weight is that immediately upon death, the bladder emptiest of any urine in it and the bowel evacuates any feces in most cases. I have cleaned and carried bodies to the morgue when working in the hospital. Well, not carried but escorted it to the morgue on a stretcher. I am glad I am not the only one to wonder what exactly the soul is. Spirit is sent to God according to scripture. Jesus death, etc sends their spirit to God upon death...Never heard a reasonable explanation on the soul...

Well this "irrefutable proof" might be a bit more refutable if one did not have to pay 40 bucks to see it.
Someone who sets about to "prove" the obvious can still be a crackpot.
Jesus had no need to convince those he taught that souls existed, because they were not specially trained to be ignorant of such an obvious fact. Validation of the existence of your own soul is trivial while validation of the existence of your body is based on faith in what your senses tell you. In theory your body could be all part of some illusion or trick. Almost anything could be an illusion...the only thing we can be absolutely sure of is that we are something that can observe and experience. We are a soul. It is proven intrinsically and with much more certainty than anything else can ever be.
I am not a believer in reincarnation or materialism...but the materialists have proposed multiple universes to defend their beliefs from the big bang and/or other scientific models that strongly suggest the universe is not eternal but had a distinct starting time. So if the materialists can grasp at such an outrageous straw...perhaps we can allow the reincarnation list to include:
5) We are just one of a vast number (maybe infinite) universes some of which could have evolved life, and souls can be reincarnated in different universes--some of which have a declining number of appropriate animals to balance others like ours which have an increasing number.

That is why Jesus said,”Let those who have ears hear.” Jesus also spoke in parables as very few people would understand what he was saying if he spoke scientifically and logically. Mankind’s ability to comprehend what He was saying was very limited and it still is.
Imagine if you had never seen any airplanes and I need to describe a fighter jet to you. When you have no point of reference it is very difficult to communicate an idea to you. (Not you specifically, but in general)
At the higher levels of consciousness there is no need to communicate in words. Consciousness communicates directly with consciousness. It’s the Tower of Babel concept and it is real. I’ve run into it when removing nasty spirits from a home when all I could hear was gibberish. When I tuned my consciousness to a higher level in prayer, I realized that the ghost could only speak Italian and I could not understand him. At the higher level his thoughts were automatically known by me and I was able to help him go to Heaven. It’s like communication through epiphanies.
The Holy Spirit is a higher level of consciousness. It has a higher vibration frequency, thus it processes faster and has a higher data storage and processing capacity than regular human consciousness. If you could see it you would realize that it functions very similar to the electrons in the orbitals of an atom. There are many levels (mansions) and each has its own unique attributes. Just as Neils Bohr, the atomic physicist who developed the model for the atom, discovered that when an electron goes from an outer orbital to an inner orbital it gives off light; consciousness viewed from a lower frequency level is perceived as Light. This is why the saints have the glow around them. This is also why God is often described as Light.
I virtually always tell people not to mess with past life work as they do not have the ability to discern if they are communicating with an attached spirit or demon rather than a different aspect of their own consciousness. Secondly, even if past lives existed, your soul would be at your highest level of spiritual development right now. Finally, if something in a past life is important, it will manifest as an experience in the present life for you to deal with now.
Too many people use past life as an excuse to be a victim... “It’s not my fault that I am this way!” rather than working to improve themselves. Thus my advice is usually, ignore any temptations to go in that direction.
The human soul exists on many levels of consciousness, the lowest of which is dense enough to manifest the physical body.. The lower levels of consciousness are wiped clean, just as a magnetic tape eraser does to a cassette tape, in order for your soul to experience the illusion of separateness from God. If a person focuses on God and goes within, they can traverse and perceive the many levels of consciousness and further realize why Jesus stated, “My Father and I are One.” God becomes experiential rather than theoretical at the higher frequencies. It is virtually impossible to describe this experience to anyone who has never experienced it as they have no point of reference to understand it. It is the “treasure buried in the field.”
Consciousness functions with wave attributes at lower frequencies and is very limited in ability. At higher levels consciousness functions in particle attributes and functions similar to x-ray or gamma rays in that it has the ability to pass though various densities of matter and differentiate between them. I’ve often told people with cancer exactly where their tumor was located even when it was in the brain and very difficult to locate with medical instrumentation. When a person is “Born of the Spirit” they begin to perceive directly from their soul or spirit rather than the flesh, just as when you are born of the flesh you begin to perceive from your flesh senses.
The energy of consciousness at the higher frequencies has the ability to transmute lower frequency thoughts just as a dense object placed in a microwave heats up and catches on fire. (This is why the weeds will be burned and why a prayer to an evil person is like placing hot coals upon their head.) It’s how Jesus did His healing. When He said “You are forgiven.” He was transmuting the lower frequency consciousness that created the illness. He was removing the obstacles to Love from the person’s soul. This is how sin causes illness.
When you are in water, it is very difficult to identify other liquids that are mixed in with the water. But if you are standing in air and encounter small amounts of liquid you quickly begin to differentiate between the various types and temperatures of liquids. It is the same way with consciousness. When your consciousness is functioning at a lower level you do not perceive other people’s consciousness around you. When you raise your consciousness to a higher level, all of a sudden other people’s consciousness becomes physical and tangible to your perception as they differentiate. You quickly learn that walking into fear, anger, or hatred feels like you are walking into a solid wall and stubbing your toe, while Love is like a breathe of fresh air after a storm.
All the things I have mentioned are very simple to understand when you begin to experience them. But very difficult to understand while you are asleep. This is why Jesus stated in Matthew 13 that the weeds were planted while the people on earth were “asleep!” It’s time to awaken... That’s the wonderful “Heaven on Earth” we pray for when we say our Father’s prayer.
What I have shared is a very small tip of a vast body of knowledge that Jesus tried to share with us. When He shared it with His disciples, He warned them not to share the knowledge with others lest they use it to turn and devour the messenger as the knowledge is very powerful. If you hear my words, close your eyes and pray within yourself. The experience will begin to be yours as well. We truly are in the times Jesus described many times in His teachings. Stay focused on God through Jesus and use the Bible as your life operating manual.

No, but I am familiar with Princeton’s research. The problem with using instrumentation to perceive consciousness is that it is like looking in a mirror to observe an object rather than going within it. It’s like peeking through a window rather than crawling through it and experiencing the room on the other side. That is also why I advise against using drugs to have a spiritual experience.
I have no need to educate and expand the ego which takes possession of knowledge and uses it to block a person’s growth toward knowing and experiencing God. I much prefer to throw the knowledge out as a life preserver so that people who are dying daily look within themselves and find God. I merely help them tread water and guide them to read the Bible and meditate and pray to God for guidance out of the despair of drowning.
My identity does not come from being able to convince others that I am correct, but from being the best servant of my Father than I can be.
My Father’s mansion has many rooms and many realities. Let those who have eyes see them.
So it’s mainly quantum mechanics?
Would that mean in this hypothesis that they're here physically but not spiritually or that they're an illusion of those who are here? So all of those who have souls view the same illusions? Can those who "are here" identify those who are not? The second possibility would frighten me because it would justify two-tiered humanity.
There's not knowing and not understanding. Could it be that who posseses a soul is unknowable? I accept that there are things that are unknown and unknowable to humans.
Now mix this with messing with DNA, organ transplants, the possiblility of splicing DNA for non-human characteristics in humans. Do these things create soullessness?
These are all crazy questions, for sure. But I wonder. We can't be all there is. If we were, we'd self destruct by now. Maybe if there are more humans than souls, humanity is destined to self destruct, as our being depends on a higher order.
My head is spinning.....
