I wish he would endorse one of RINO Cornyn’s primary opponents. Cornyn needs to go to a runoff and lose so I don’t have to hold my nose when I vote in November.

No. In short, Helms had a plan (whether you agreed with it or not). He was always working to that end goal. Cruz just rolls grenades in a room. While I’m all about shaking things up, that’s all he’s about. He’s not a leader and has no plan short of the moment. I know it is not the majority opinion here, but I am singularly unimpressed with Cruz. He’s way too frat-boy.

"...He (Helms) was always working to that end goal..." Yes, and he was a master parliamentarian who could use procedure rules to tie his opposition in knots. Helms was the most conservative man in the Senate and yet managed to get reelected time and again in the least conservative Old South state. The 1984 Senate race matched the two-term Helms vs. the two-term Governor Jim Hunt. Hunt was favored but Helms won with the help of strategy masters Tom Ellis and Carter Wrenn and the strong Reagan reelection campaign. That NC Senate race was the most expensive in US history up to that time even over those in more populous states.

Fantastic! I almost have to pinch myself, watching Ted Cruz’ magnificence.
Can you imagine if we had just two or three more like him in the Senate? The mind boggles.

No! Cruz is CRUZ! He has his own place in history and it’s only just begun! I was proud to help elect him. He’s a breath of fresh air in that cesspool of DC...
To: RIghtwardHo
I know it is not the majority opinion here, but I am singularly unimpressed with Cruz.I totally disagree. Cruz is doing as I would. Fight the establishment at every turn. I would imagine many of the founding fathers would do the same if not just take up arms and rebel!!
