Behold the Lykoi Cat (photo by Audra Mitchell) Feline-phobes beware. If you are the type who avoids crossing paths with a black cat or suspects your kitty is just waiting for you to die so it can tuck into an oversized buffet meal of your body, there's a new breed that may give you nightmares.

I have an old white cat that resembles this one. He’s very thin but in great condition, believe it or not. He does alarm friends who have never seen him before.

Thanks for the ping Slings. Looks like a RatCat. Expression is similar to one of ours named “Buddy” just around time for dinner.

Talk about fugly? The Sphynx cat is an artificially bred genetic mutant cat that was “created” by cat breeders in the mid 20th century. It has always been bred in captivity, so it cannot survive outside of a human home. It is completely hairless, has huge ears, a wrinkled face even when it is a kitten, a soft, wrinkled body, and abnormally high body temperature. A Sphynx kitten costs about 2,500 dollars. And right now they are a fad among the wealthy. I have met a few of those unfortunate creatures, and it costs their owners a fortune just to keep them alive.
