Gary James, of Garys Chicaros, said he can easily spot a freak or f A man in a wheelchair claims he was denied service, and the small-town restaurant has been slammed nationwide for its hateful views.
This Oklahoma eatery will certainly leave you with a sour taste in your mouth.
Outspoken Enid, Okla., restaurateur Gary James has come under heavy scrutiny recently for his unsavory language and controversial views surrounding minorities and homosexuals.
Patrons claim that Gary's Chicaros dishes out a side of bigotry with each meal. These shocking revelations became public after a handicapped patron came forward to say he was refused service.
Now, he tried to find a weak excuse not to let me in with my wheelchair or the weak excuse of having loud people with me, Matt Gard told KFOR.
But James claims that Gard was denied a hearty steak dinner because of the rowdy company he keeps, not because he is in a wheelchair.
He created an issue. You only have one time here. You create an issue, youre out forever, James claimed.
But as James defended his business practices, he unleashed an unsolicited tirade against the unemployed, freaks and fs.
I really don't want gays around, James told KFOR. Any man that would compromise his body would compromise anything.
Inside the restaurant, James proudly displays a Confederate flag.
Ive been in business 44 years, I think I can spot a freak or a f, he added.
The restaurants logo says the eatery is where great whites gather, and promotes violence against Muslims and minorites.
Gard said that his clientele is condoning his views and behavior and views by continuing to patronize the eatery.
James ran for city council in 2009 and was consistent about his anti-gay views even in the spotlight.
If I discriminate, it's against the people I dislike," James told News9 in 2009. If you come in here with all the in-your-face and a limp wrist, no I don't really want you in here and my customers damn sure don't want you in here.
His rather loose definition of homosexual extends to people who wear a hat indoors.
Negative and snarky comments have overrun Garys Chicaros social media profiles.
On Yelp, hundreds of commenters have unleashed a barrage of one-star ratings to torpedo the restaurants reputation.
I prefer my meals to be smoke & hate free. The owner, Gary James, is an outspoken, loudly so, bigot, wrote commenter Lynn P. of Fairview, Okla. I can't believe this guy is still in business!
Photoshop-savvy commenters have plastered James face near male go-go dancers and other racy images. An alternate Facebook account was created to advertise the restaurant as a gay bar.
James vile rhetoric isnt limited to gays, minorities and the disabled. He isnt too fond of the unemployed, either.
Well if you work, you own a business, pay your taxes, youre more than welcome here, he told KFOR. If youre on welfare, stay at home and spend my money there.
Notice this guy doesn’t refuse service to fags. He just says he doesn’t want them around. I think that’s still allowed, isn’t it? And if his customers make rude remarks and make the bungholers feel uncomfortable, why, that would sure be a shame. I know I wouldn’t fight with any business owner to take my money. Maybe the poofs can find somewhere else to eat ... somewhere they can get a cheap tossed salad ...
Or put up a sign saying FREE GAS, then walk away.
Thank you. :-)
Whatever happened to “freedom of association?”
But the Dem Governor could have said it too.
See, that’s what I was thinking - if this man is so repugnant, and eating at his restaurant is such an assault on your sensibilities, don’t eat there and he’ll go out of business.
Nope, libs gotta bring in the guns.
If you don’t like the way a person runs his business, stay the hell away. Go find a business that likes idiots like you.
Is anyone being forced to eat at this guy's restaurant? Don't the Media Munchkins realize calling this kind of attention to this fellow will only fatten his practice, and with precisely the kind of customer he prefers?
Are they suggesting some "Direct Action" perhaps fines or a lynching for "hate."
Finding the edge, perhaps without going over it, appears to be a sound tactic in the pursuit of "earned media."
so... can you be arrested now for stating your dislikes?
I guess we’ll soon find out.
Too bad he will probably be a homo target now. They aren;t happy enough to go to places they are wanted- they need to go to places they are NOT wanted and purposely cause trouble. What kind of life is that?
re: “Nope, libs gotta bring in the guns.”
Yep. They can’t allow someone to exist who doesn’t follow the PC line. They HAVE to make an example of him. Otherwise, others might stop fearing them.
It’s a story because the media views it as a way to attack a Conservative Christian in a Red State.

I too can easily spot 'f'. It hangs out between 'e' and 'g' and looks a lot like a 't', except with a limp wrist at the top.
Apparently, this rag is trying to give us a new letter word to fear.
I don’t think he can be destroyed - he probably thrives on the LOCAL patrons who have eaten there for years!
***Any man that would compromise his body would compromise anything.***
Good point. That should have been the basis for keeping them out of our military from the get-go. Truly a matter of national security.
Of course I would concur with his right to associate freely, but I do have to wonder, can you really tell by looking at anyone if they are homosexual just by looking at them? I mean, unless they make it public for the purposes of attracting attention and demanding special, unconstitutional protection of course. Because to be sure, they are not all walking Richard Simmons caricatures.
You should have did it, and then called the police on him.
It should be a story because the restaurant owner is a victim of cyber bullying.
I missed the part in the Constitution where the First Amendment only applies to liberals.
