And why is that? Because it's beginning to dawn on me that Jeb Bush is probably going to be the Republican Party's nominee for president in 2016.
Consider: With the ongoing implosion of Chris Christie's political career, the GOP establishment has lost its best hope for a candidate who could stop a libertarian-populist insurgency during the primaries. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Scott Walker the list of viable fire-breathers is longer (and less dominated by incompetents, crazies, and one-note sideshow acts) than establishment types would like.

Palin/Cruz or Cruz/Palin would crush that dream in a heartbeat.

I can’t believe that the GOPe is stupid/delusional/disconnected/misguided/out of touch/idiotic enough to try to run another Bush this generation. Instant. Disaster.
They’ll probably prove me wrong though.

If you are a conservative, the GOPe hates your guts.

My thoughts. A 3rd Bush in the W.H. would not be that bad. Hear me out. All we have to do is CONCENTRATE on the Senate. If he assumes office with 55+ GOP senators we can keep him in line.

Mitt Romney has a better chance at getting the 2016 nomination than Jeb Bush.
Actually, if Mitt jumps into the race, that scenario just might come to pass.
To: arthurus
I can definitely see that happening. We could stop it by unifying behind one and ONLY ONE conservative candidate.

If we do not have the power to elect a President, we do not have the power to keep one in line. Bush #3 is a bad idea.

A 3rd Bush also has the same chance of winning as an orangutan. That is the more important point, not how good or bad it could be. If Jeb Bush could singlehandedly make our economy as good as it was in the Reagan years, it would still be irrelevant.
To: DIRTYSECRET
If he assumes office with 55 GOP Senators, Harry Reid will be able to pull of at least 8-10 with McCain’s help to block any conservative agenda.
