The latest update to the AZ politics article now seems more like straight-up reporting...although it could be seen as intended to point out to excitable coddlers of Barry that public funds are being expended on issues “surrounding” the birth certificate so as to revive a past faux indignation controversy:
“Arpaio received much heat from the media and public in 2012 when it was learned that an MCSO deputy had spent several days in Hawaii assisting Zullo. Arpaio said that donations to the Cold Case Posse would allow that separate entity (that is affiliated with the MCSO) to reimburse the taxpayers.”

ArizonaPolitics.com has a blog owner name showing as “Mitch M.”
A person named “Mitch” has just posted a comment on BirtherReport claiming to be the Mitch of ArizonaPolitics.com and says that just because he posts news to FogBlow doesn’t make him an Obot and he points out that he also shares news with BirtherReport:

I saw that post. I don’t take anyone’s word on that website. They lie alot.

The ArizonaPolitics.com article keeps changing this evening. A purported screen-shot of an e-mail from an Lt. Brandon Jones is included now in the article as posted up-thread by 4Zoltan, but it could be photo-shopped.
There is some furious spinning going on and it is not coming directly from Zullo or Arpaio!
Now the article reverts back to saying the 2 detectives are NOT investigating anything related to the BC:
“Earlier this afternoon, Arizona’s Politics received confirmation from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office that it had two detectives working on a criminal investigation related to the 2 1/2-year long probe into President Barack Obama’s birth certificate. A spokesperson for Sheriff Joe Arpaio now tells Arizona’s Politics that his information was INCORRECT, and that birth certificate lead investigator Mike Zullo ‘was incorrect’.
“MCSO Lt. Brandon Jones states that he ‘was misinformed’ when he had confirmed the information earlier. He now states that “The detectives are not working on anything regarding the birth certificate. Not even surrounding. Mr Zullo was incorrect, they are working on other sensitive cases not even related.”

I have about given up on Obozo being declared an illegal immigrant. I am, however, a very strong believer that his birth certificate is a phony as a $3 bill, and that he is an illegal immigrant.
Well, Brandon Jones is a real spokesman for the Sheriff’s office, so I would think this will be sorted out fairly quickly.
If it turns out that Jones made the statement in the e-mail, I would think Zullo needs to go on Gallups’ or Gillar’s show fairly soon and explain the discrepancy.
Any second or third sources other than one from the Fogblower about the MCSO statement? And if so, any reconciliation between the statements by Zullo and by Jones? So far, I haven’t seen any from any media outlet or whatever.
Can’t help but think that if this is real (the source is in doubt), it is a matter terminological posturing on the part of the MCSO. That Jones describes the detective’s work as not regarding and “not even surrounding,” could mean any number of things. Those may be words chosen either for the sake of clarifying that MCSO isn’t spending official county resources on Birth Certificate matters, or for the sake of keeping the nature of the investigation as low profile as possible. In either case, I doubt Jones’s response indicates that Zullo was confused or dishonest about what the two detectives are investigating: particularly a crucial criminal investigation which, in Zullo’s opinion, will be viewed as “universe shattering” when its findings are made public.
That the detectives work is “not surrounding . . .” does’t mean it was not spawned in some sense by evidence that happened to emerge on the periphery of the Posse’s Birth Certificate investigation. In fact, Jones does implicitly acknowledge that there are indeed a couple detectives currently dedicated to “sensitive” work—ostensibly the ones to whom Zullo was referring. Jones could have said (and still may say) “We do not have a single detective or officer in our department doing any work in anyway connected with anything that Zullo has been working on.” Even if he were to say that, I wouldn’t automatically assume that it’s anything more than a function of discreteness in order to veil the universe-shatterer. As things stand now, his replies strike me more as roughly expressing this: “Uhm, on second thought, we need to say those two guys that Zullo mentioned are not working on anything technically interdependent with his Birth Certificate investigation.”
For what it’s worth, as of about 20 minutes ago, I saw nothing about the status of the 2 detectives on the Carl Gallups Facebook page, the CCP Prayer Support FB page, PPSimmons blog, nor on the new release pages of the MCSO and MCSO CCP. I do suspect it will be addressed in at least one of those places before long.

As a side note, I can admit that I cringe a bit to use Zullo’s phrase “universe shattering,” much like I do at Gallups’ phrase “One thousand percent certain.” Nevertheless, I do hope and pray that the CCP and the MCSO will get to the bottom of all this and let us know honestly what they have discovered quickly and effectively.

Not yet, but I have been off-line all day and am just catching up...
Jones said that Mr. Zullo was incorrect. What was he incorrect about?
His supporters would not care. You could publish photographs of him with a goat, and they would look the other way. The media would also look the other way.
There is a lot we do not know about this man.
I have no doubts there is interesting stuff yet to be discovered.

On Freedom Friday (2/14) Carl Gallups said that he talked to Zullo Friday AM and that the separate criminal investigation (of the universe-shattering revelation) unrelated to the BC is going forward “full-bore” and that he even knows the names of the two MCSO detectives involved.

Gallups said he was unaware of the Birther Report article that had confusing information on whether there was an MCSO investigation “related” in any way to the CCP BC investigation.
