TAYLOR, Mich. (WJBK) -
Employees at Beer Belly's Bar in Taylor have been receiving threatening phone calls after a video began circulating the Internet that suggests the bar does not allow "colored" customers.
A sign hangs outside the bar that reads "NO COLORS ALLOWED." Some understood the sign to mean no black people were allowed inside, but the owner explains why that is the incorrect interpretation of the sign.
The sign actually refers to bikers not being allowed to wear their gang colors on the property.

Sounds like a history professor I had who accidentally used the word “niggardly” in a sentence that had nothing to do with racism or anything in any stretch of one’s imagination and set off the most ridiculous charges of racism by the Negroes in the class.

I know a couple of black bikers and I doubt they would be so easily confused by the sign.

Deja Vu. Just like when I opened that specialized Laundromat that filled the washers with bleach water. Everybody totally misunderstood the “Whites Only” sign.
Could be quite exciting when the race pimps show up to picket the bar and meet the biker customers.
Kind of makes you think some people are just sitting around looking for something over which to be offended, doesn’t it???

I can understand the intended meaning of this sign, but really I do believe the owner needs to change it...
some of us can still remember “no coloreds allowed” signs...
he can just say, No Biker Gang Colors
easy enough. just a kindness to avoid the possible confusion is all. just a kindness.
