Parents can leave their little ones at a My Gym location on Feb. 7 before they head to the restaurant chain for dinner, and Olive Garden will cover the babysitting bill.
Olive Gardens new promotion mixes three things parents are sure to love: a romantic dinner, unlimited breadsticks and free babysitting.
The restaurant chain has teamed up with kids fitness center franchise My Gym for a special evening of children-free dining called Parents' Night Out.
On Feb. 7, parents can drop their little ones off at a participating My Gym location and then go on a dinner date at Olive Garden. They will have to put down a deposit for the childcare, but that will be returned when they show their Olive Garden receipt.
My Gyms only have space for 30 kids, so reservations are being taken on a first-come, first-serve basis, according to a press release.
The deal is meant to spotlight Olive Gardens two-for-$25 special, but a company rep told the Orlando Sentinel that diners can also try other items on the menu.
Some disappointed moms and dads took to Facebook to gripe that there isnt a My Gym in their area. Others asked Olive Garden to consider running the promotion with another partner.
At this time, we are just testing this offer. While we don't have additional locations at this time, it's possible that we will in the future, the company wrote in response to a Facebook comment.

My girlfriend is Italian by blood. If I took her to Olive Garden, she would dump me.

The rest of the story is they put a barrel of salt in the vat so customers will buy profitable drinks.

Probably but you will pay for it. This is a creative idea. Given the cost of a dinner for two these days, it just might make economic sense for the restaurant. It certainly would be a convenience for young marrieds and divorcees with children in custody.

Two restaurants in competition near me: "Roma Casual Italian and Greek" and "Olive Garden Restaurant" and "Macaroni Grill." The Roma Restaurant is the only one that is NOT part of a chain and the difference is obvious to me now. My wife convinced me with the test - why is it you feel sick an hour after eating too much at the chain restaurants, but when you eat too much at roma casual where everything is from scratch you want to go dancing?I say 'everything from scratch' because you can walk in and see the kitchen, there are no "vats" of sauce just blocks of butter, salt, fresh spices hanging etc..

By having been born in Italy?

Nothing is free. Other diners are helping to pick up the babysitting tab for date nite.

You mean it’s not fresh? Really? They aren’t making the pasta there? Get outta here! I hope that doesn’t become a trend among every. chain. in. America.
Get over it.
