For their 2014 Super Bowl commercial, Budweiser ad execs spiced it up by adding a yellow lab puppy. The result: awesomeness.
There isnt much to say for this one other than I dont have to watch any more Super Bowl commercials on Sunday. Im convinced that I would come away thinking this one is far and away the best. And, Id be right.

I don’t think the Caisson Horses are a particular breed - probably matched more for color than anything else. They seem to be a mix of various saddle horses with some draft blood. Just looking at their photos, seems like they have a lot of Morgan types (stocky but not tall). Unless all the riders are fairly small men, those are not your big draft or hunter types.

Goldens love the water, but they are definitely slower swimmers than Labs or Chessies.
I think all that hair weighs them down.

I respect that. When we decided we were going to *get* a dog again, we went to every Lab rescue place we could find....we even attended adoption events. Not one had a *puppy* as depicted in the commercial.
We found the handlers who brought their *foster* Labs to these events were like *hoarder*s. That’s the only word I can think of to use.....they no more wanted to let go of the *rescues* than a 5 y/o kid with a lollipop. Most of the dogs we spent time with had some very strange *neurosis.*
We ended up at a small breeder....and are pleased [mostly] with our Lab-shedder :0

That 'Dale clearing a three board fence is a startling sight.
No real reason they shouldn't be good jumpers though. I know a lot of big men who hunt on Dale-TB crosses.

They are a mixed bag of breeds. Lovely animals and pampered to the hilt. My 10 y/o GD bonded with one in particular when we visited in April.....we couldn’t *drag* her out of the stable. ;)

Once they learn that cute little trick....what’s to keep them corralled? LOL
They are built for pulling....not jumping, especially in competition.

Oh, there are rescues, and then there are hoarders . . . LiL is the real thing.
Kristie and Drew had a whole LITTER of Lab pups that somebody just dumped. And they've had pregnant female Labs and wound up with pups as well.
But all my Labs are from breeders - small hobby breeders and one big-time field trial breeder.

Clydesdales have a much more sloping shoulder than your average draft horse, thus are better jumpers. They are not built or intended for heavy draft work, hence you will (almost) never see them hitched to a stoneboat or doing the heavy pulling that Belgians and Perches do.
They were originally bred as a smaller and more refined draft horse, although they have gotten bigger over the years. But they are still the breed of choice to add size and 'bottom' to hunters for big guys - they just have a generally more refined appearance, better heads, cleaner legs, etc.

I just love my Labs! (although tempted by some LOVELY Chessies owned by a friend - oh my!)
The thing about rescue is that it's so hit-or-miss. Unless they happen to have something on hand that you like, and that just may not happen for months at a time.
With a breeder, you've got a definite schedule (and sometimes a waiting list!) and you know pretty much what you're going to get by looking at the parents and the pedigrees.

You know the Old Guard horses really live the good life.
If they're temperamentally fit and reasonably sound, there's no reason they can't pull a caisson until well into their teens.

Yup. Fantastic.
Juxtapose this with all the hoochie-mama girl ads they have. I don’t get it. Class (includes the Clyde ads), then no class.

Personally the Lab gets enough. Let the Dal get the attention. Choose a rarer dog (but not the PWD, please - Uhbama has shown how sheepish people are with that one).

Sigh...at one time we were up to four.
My living circumstances, presently, won't allow it. If I had my druthers....I'd have a bigger pack ...most certainly. :)
