Crazy emergency braking with a Leopard tank in the Netherlands. The M1 Abrams is a main battle tank produced in the United States. The M1 is named after General Creighton Abrams.

The people are slightly out of focus at one point, while the tank is perfectly in focus. They are in two different focal planes. The people were shot in front of a blue screen and pasted over the other scene.
So, what kind of morons pose for the real thing?
OK, I’ll watch it again.
Well, having served 10 years in the Canadian military, I can say there are morons who would do this sort of thing.
My folks blessed me with some sort of a semblance of intelligence, therefor I will not be participating in events such as these lol.
There are some very interesting individuals out there though that wouldn’t think twice about that.
Actually the guy on the left moves to the grass and it looks like his heal is lower as he does so. For focus depends on the equipment but everything looks out of focus as the camera man moves to get the tank in the shot. I could see some SLR’s having a hard time adjusting everything. i like the pants all waving.
The perspective is different for the people in the foreground and road in the background. You can’t even judge how close the tank is when it stops. It is totally fake, and not even that good. Some people just want to believe. ;>}
Why is an Abrams mentioned in the article about a Leopard? Just strange. BTW, FAKE (just a guess).
I’m not seeing the issues you mention. It looks real to me. Nobody is interacting with the gal either and she was standing with them. I call fake on your fake. It’s real.
I did a search and the longest clip I could find was :51. There isn’t a source for it, although one site said US Army sourced it out of Belgium.
SOOO fake. Sigh. Not even a good fake. (Other Freepers have noticed some of the telltales.)
But entertaining nonetheless.
Another tipoff, a man in camo walks in from the front after the tank stops, as a man in camo climbs out of the tank but stays on it. ... designed to create the impression that the scenes are melded.
well..when he can do a bootlegger turn then it would be interesting.
*shrug* I just assumed it was real, cause it looked enough to me, and I know crazy enough people to do this lol.
Hard to believe out of the Netherlands. If Russia, maybe.
It’s real. Wind direction is from behind the camera and headed toward the group and on-coming tank.
The tank is a retrofitted ex-Dutch Leopard 2A4, now sporting the long gun of a Leopard 2A6M.
Among the troops in the video, 2nd row, 5th from the right, the trooper and the tank commander [apparent], communicate.
Back in my Armor Training Devices days (1986 to 1993) we did a better job of simulating than this is. However we also had a larger budget. :-)
A most gracious thank you for the ping.
We hope that all is well with y’all out there on the eastern half of the country!
Best Regards

Entertaining video, but those people are crazy.
Dang !!!
Safe and somewhat sound. Lol. We got a couple inches of snow after some ice but we don’t have to go out in it except to feed the birds and knowing it will be gone in two days it’s pretty to look at.
