I'm sure MLK jr was a great guy and all that, but does anyone else think it's gets a little nauseous to see an endless series of Facebook friends, LinkedIn connections, politicians, and celebrities trying to show how deep and respectful of the man by posting some quote of his all day?
it’d just you
In the early 1970’s, back before MLK day was a holiday in California, I was in High School and as I approached my school (George Washington HS in San Fran) there were about 200 Blacks and about 20 white liberals protesting and wouldn’t let me cross the picket line and called me a racist simply because I wanted to go to school that day.
I imagine even back then, those 200+ kids got an excused absence for that missed day of school while us kids that went to school and did our school work were graded based on our work.
The post-MLK holiday sales begin tomorrow. Get in line now!
Best/worst one was NY governor Cuomo tweeting “@NYGovCuomo: I join with all New Yorkers in remembering the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, not only today, but every day. #MLKDay2014” right after broadcasting “conservatives have no place in NY.”
Some quote? How about a single quote, over and over again? I've known him all these years as the man of a single quote!
Isn’t this holiday celebrated by the release of a new version of Air Jordans?
In Houston this day is celebrated with a spirit of togetherness.
There is also a city ordinance that only permits one parade a day. Whoever claims the day (any day) first, gets it.
There are two MLK Day parades because neither community organizerer can cooperate with the other.
One of the provisions for MLK to speak somewhere was, he was to have two white women “escorts”.
Much of what the SRM and MLK’s heirs push is the same myth building Jackie O and the leftist press went into high gear with after JFK’s death.
I believe that it is more of a deification of MLK...
which goes into blasphemy.
The left constantly invalidates every aspect of their beliefs as regularly as they breath.
MLK day WAS recently removed from our counties benefit program as a waste of tax payers money. The employees didn’t complain one bit either, at least to my knowledge. Apparently they felt it was better time spent WORKING.
One of my black coworkers said off the collar: “...what your people did to my people...”
My people? My direct decendants came from Italy in 1900s.
His came from Jamiaca in the 1920s.
What did Italian immagrants do to Jamaican immagrants in the twenties?
Ignorant Effing People!!
The sad thing is that liberals use MLK day to excoriate the right more then they use it to help minorities. When will minorities wake up to the liberal nonsense?
