Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, the man who traded for Tim Tebow, is now looking back on his career in New York. He's expressing some regrets, and guess who's right at the top?
"Obviously we made a couple mistakes," Tannenbaum told CBS Sports Radio, "trading for Tim Tebow most notably." The Jets dealt a fourth- and sixth-round pick to Denver to get Tebow in March 2012, and then proceeded to use him in no discernibly logical fashion whatsoever.

How does he know? He never played him.
He only wants to be a QB. Otherwise, he refuses to play. Look it up.
It’s funny how no one seems to remember or want to point out that Denver dumped the 2011 starter after having lost 4 out of 5 games to start the season.
Tebow lost 4 out of 5 of his last starts.
Folks wanted Orton’s head on a pike for his lack of production.
Let's not forget that Tebow has more playoff wins than Dallas' $100 Million QB, Tony Romo.
You’re a gifted man, Dr. Henrickson. But I repeat myself. Thanks for the laugh, and have a good day!
And all are considered better QBs than Tebow. Doesn't that tell you anything?
they grabbed Tebow to undermine his career. it’s extremely obvious their ideology drove them to attack Tebow and his beliefs the only way they could
Because Tebow couldn't make enough of a contribution to justify a spot on the roster.
But he has talent.
No doubt. Anyone who is a starter at the Division I college level has talent. But very few have the talent to be successful in the NFL, and Tebow is one of them.
Blackballed why? Because he was a Christian? Give me a break. Kurt Warner was a devout Christian and made no secret of it. Justin Tuck, Matt Hasselbeck, Troy Polamalu, Corey Lynch, Matt Forte, and God knows how many others are very open about their faith and what it means to them. For Pete's sake you can't see a touchdown scored of a field goal made without a player pointing heavenward. The difference is that all those players have something that Tebow lacks; the ability to play football at the pro level.
If Tebow was indeed blackballed, as you claim, it's because he can't play his position well enough to make a team. And no other reason.
Becoming a national Christian superstar hurt Tebow, not his merely being a Christian, I think he was taken from the public eye, at least partly on purpose.
Yes, well it's not uncommon for people to blame everyone but themselves for their failures.
LOL, a little off topic isn’t it?
Tebow isn’t posting to you, I am, but your post does seem to reveal more of an ax to grind about Tebow’s Christian superstardom than was first indicated.
They wouldn’t let him play. It seems like it was done deliberately.
No he was blackballed for daring to oppose abortion in a commercial aired during the superbowl.
Of course he was. The fact that he lacked the talent to play at that level had absolutely nothing to do with it.
The Jets paid someone millions of dollars in an effort to undermine his career? That is a mistake one should regret making.
I agree. I’m just saying that of the three QBs on the team, Tebow posted the best stats, not great by any means, but the best. The Jets might have won one or two more games with him.
Considering what Tebow has been doing this past year to improve his QB skills, the Jets dropping him was probably the best thing that ever happened to him.........
I fully expect to see Tebow return to the NFL as a starting quarterback.........
I do, too...........
You repeat that he isn’t NFL quality and lacks talent. Explain why he was doing well(compared to other QB’s) and then the Jets wanted him so bad but refused to play him. While Sanchez threw more TD’s to the other team Tebow sat there and waited as he was told to. A third QB was brought in before letting him into a game. He was paid fairly well.
Who would do that except to ruin the man’s career? Maybe he had a remarkable “collapse” at practice that no one noticed but the coaches.
Sanchez was paid very well at the judgement of the same coaches. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this out. It is a dream for the people who rely on sportswriters to tell them “Tebow’s mechanics are poor”. They don’t know Jack $hit. Never played the game at any level Same idiots were drooling over Geno Smith until they realized he is a running QB and can’t throw.
