I have antique rose bushes on one side of my front yard. They are a plastic bag, styrofoam cup magnet. And yes, people who drive by throw beer cans into them, too.
It's on the other side of my truck, and suv, so it blocks my view of it..lol.
Right now my front porch looks like a trash dump. Plants that froze, lumber for holding plankets down, lawn and leaf bags, and a sack of seed starting mix...plus a scarecrow I never got put away before Christmas..
But at least I now have the Christmas Tree down, and boxed up to go out in my storage shed. Maybe I can get the outdoor Christmas Lights down, and the scarecrow put away before Valentine's Day!
I just don't know how much longer I'll be able to get away with that.

Tile? Aren't there oak floors, or long leaf pine floors under that tile?
I stripped out carpet, the padding, linoleum, and tile, (yes, it was layers thick) all stuck down with black mastic to get to the oak floors in my house..Talk about scraping stuff off a couple of inches at a time..ugh.
My Valencia onion sets, nestled in their bed of partially composted grass clippings and shredded leaves.
This part of the garden doesn't get tilled, and rarely needs weeded. I just keep adding stuff to the top, and clearing spots to plant stuff.

OOooh, sounds serious..Also, sounds like a lot of honey do work. If The Lady needs any help with suggestions for your chore list, Marcella, and I will be happy to help with ideas for manly tasks.
I already thought of one..build a nice picnic table..of course you will need a gazebo for the other side of the yard to add visual balance.
All this lemonousity is causing me to crave a big old slice of lemon meringue pie..That would be so good right now.

Have you asked the catz if they are willing to have another house member?
I remember those tomato recipes as I had a lot of tomatoes. I think it was you who posted the Schlotzky bread recipe on the Memorial Day thread. I made it, liked it, and was thinking of making it today or tomorrow.
Libertarian27 does the FreeRepublic Recipe Thread.
Remember, Johnny, you’ve got as many ex-wives as you can afford.
I’ve been feeding a cat who supervised my gardening activites last year. Just came in from setting some food out for him/her and he came running. He enjoys watching but won’t come near enough to pet. He might just need some catnip.
The outside water is cut off for the winter so I’ve been taking gallon milk jugs out to the garlic, which is all that’s growing. What do you think of using those milk jugs when it’s time for the tomatoes to get a larger home? Cut the tops larger and holes for the bottom? It won’t matter cutting the sides off when it’s time to go into the garden. Since hardly any produced last summer, I need to get a head start on Mother Nature so started a few seeds the other day.
The Brussels sprouts germinated and the broccoli and cauliflower grew an inch overnight.
It’s going reach the 80s today but buckle up for another hard freeze Thursday. Gotta love Texas weather.
Not just “someone”, but “Someone”. Proper noun.

“All this lemonousity is causing me to crave a big old slice of lemon meringue pie..”
I had a lemon pie recipe from my mother-in-law many years ago that was excellent and I need to see if I can find that in two boxes of recipe cards I have. It was even easier to make than lemon meringue and it was wonderful. I will get a Meyer Lemon tree this spring.

You might be surprised when the cat bumps his nose against your finger and slow-blinks back.
I've rescued my share of feral catz.

One of my co-workers told me that the next time he falls in love with a woman, he will just buy her a house, give her his checkbook and part company while still on good terms.
If the house has a big kitchen with granite countertops, and a big food prep island, plus a walk in pantry for all my baking stuff, can you introduce me to this fine gentleman?
