Tina was a nice-looking Jewess, if I say so myself.
I think I read somewhere that Gilligan was his last name.
When the show was on the Network got calls from people wondering why the government couldn’t spare a plane to go rescue the stowaways. They thought it was real!
Well, they were after-school shows, after all. The kids who watched them were pretty young, I assume.
The older kids had more interesting things to do, I'm guessing.
By the early- to mid-70s, a lot of stay-at-home moms had gotten jobs and become "independent," thanks to Betty Friedan.
‘castaways’
Damn the torpedoes! Full steam ahead!!!
"Gilligan" was his last name. His first name was never given on the series. Sherwood Schwartz once said that, had there been a need for it in one of the scripts, his first name would have been "Willie."

Yes. Turns out that apparently is true. And according to this I just came across, his first name was “Willie”.
“Gilligan’s last name was Gilligan. No where on any of the episodes is his first name found or used, though producer Sherwood Schwartz said the character was to be named “Willie Gilligan.” “

nothing wrong with good standards
Yes, but when I was a kid, maybe sometime in the early 70s, I distinctly remember the Skipper getting busted for pot possession. I was very disillusioned. Now look at me.
Beat me by a couple minutes.
That was Granny calling from Beverly Hills.
Well, even after seeing every single episode a dozen or more times times I don’t know all the trivia, LOL
The *Skipper*??! Bob Denver of course, he was mister MaryJane and def got popped for it- but Alan Hale?
Are you certain it was him and not Gilligan?
I wouldn’t mind if TV went back to these programs. Most of what I watch these days are documentaries, news and cooking shows. Oh yes. Kittens and puppies on Animal Planet. ( Gearing up for the Puppy Bowl)
Yes.
RIP.
Lots of classic TV and movies on the web though
Yes. I just saw the entire Andy Griffith show for the first time on Netflix. Two weeks ago and loved it.
Check out this short teaser from the unaired pilot episode. This was before Russell Johnson, Tina Louise and Dawn Wells got their roles.
