SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Reuters) - A Texas woman arrested on suspicion of killing her newborn son and dumping him in the trash told detectives she "strangled the baby and watched him die," according to an arrest affidavit released by San Antonio police on Wednesday.
The body of the infant, likely less than a week old, was found stuffed in a duffel bag on the intake conveyor belt of a Waste Management recycling center in San Antonio two days before Christmas.

Yet if Planned Parenthood had told her to "give birth" to the child in a hotel toilet during an abortion process that is okay?

She should be in prison until she is well past the ability to give birth, + 100 years.

If they threaten her with lethal injection, her defense attorney might try calling Peter Singer (of "post-birth abortion might be ethical" fame). After all, anything to save his client's life, right?
If the jury agrees, this case could give our culture yet another shove down the chute.

People will come after her with torches and pitchforks but what about the people who told her to do this? What about Planned Parenthood? Who do you all think sets the example? I’m not pardoning her behavior I’m just pointing out there are others promoting the idea of what she did.

I didn’t see anything in the story regarding Planned Parenthood, and even if there were found to be an association, she still strangled and killed her infant son. I’m not for pardoning her behaviour at all.

Postpartum Depression could be the cause. Don't rush to judgment on her yet. Seventy to eighty percent of women suffer from this in the first several weeks after delivery. Some make it through with help from family and friends and some don't. Take that lady in Texas that drowned her five kids after giving birth that her husband was told not to get her pregnant again.

From the article, it is believed she gave birth at a hospital under an assumed name. She could have simply walked out of the hospital and surrendered the child for adoption. This isn’t a young girl who was stupid and afraid.. this is a 25 year old woman. There are social workers employed at hospitals. All she had to do is walk out alone OR tell her nurse she wanted to surrender the baby. I hope she rots in jail.

That was premeditated murder.

Postpartum occurs after birth. She told the detectives she tried to find someone weeks before birth to teach her to perform a self abortion.

Good for you. But this story just broke and all the evidence is not in. I am willing to bet a lawyer will introduce depression as a cause.

This is heartbreaking! I was never able to have a child so we adopted 3 infants that other people didn’t want. Someone would have been just as delighted to take this child as I was to take mine. I’m too old now or I would take another one.
