At the 2015 Ford F-150 reveal Bill Ford trotted out what he hopes to be a "tougher and smarter" look for their iconic pickup. With tidy proportions, an imposing face and a glorious panoramic sunroof, that look is good.

I could have swore I heard somewhere Ford was going nearly all aluminum, it might be when the fuel mileage mandate rolls around in a few years?
Gonna get interesting when the Feds say everybody must get 50mpg or else.
may be the demise OF the big American pickup, might be a good time to get one before they are gone.
I have a choice, get another 3500HD with the natural gas option or get the Colorado, the NG sounds tempting, with an at home compressor station I can fuel it myself.
But of course the feds will want their road tax in some fashion.
I can do without the sunroof. They invariably leak................

I’m a little disappointed. For the 2105 model year, it looks a little 21st century.
2105? If you think driving will be legal then, I think you’re mistaken.
Same problem with Dodge Ram pickups. The fault is usually a big ceramic resistor that gets too hot and melts the connection solder or burns it in two. After two replacements, I took some wire and high temp solder and fixed it myself. Also the fan motor had some leaves in it that blocked the cooling................
I just retired my Chrysler 300M with 186,000 miles on it and other than the AC going out at 160k, the only thing I ever did was oil changes, brake jobs and the scheduled timing belt replacement.
My Scions have been reliable as an electric slot car. Heck, once I discovered ALLPAR in the mid-1990’s, all of my Chryslers were relatively reliable, though I no longer “do” Chrysler. Cars are MUCH more reliable than they were just 20 years ago. The problems you and I are having harken back to the 1970’s when it was just assumed you spent a fair amount of time at auto parts stores, junk yards, and under the hood.
Yeah, it only cost me $20 to fix it myself. But it’s the principle that is the problem. It’s a bad design that never, EVER should have gotten into those trucks. There is clearly an “it’s good enough” mentalit. There are very few bad designs left in most cars nowadays.
I bought a brand new 1980 buic Skylark and vowed never to own another GM car. The car was so rife with design defects that I put their engineering management on a par with Chris Christie. There is no way they did not know about all those problems.
I have a Chevy. I don’t consider myself especially dumb. GM has the best engine/drivetrain (Duramax/Allison). Rest of the truck isn’t as nice as Ford, but nicer than Dodge.
Toyota is a non-starter if you need a HD truck for things like pulling a large trailer.
HD trucks are exempt from CAFE. If you notice, they don’t have MPG stickers on the window.
I cannot bring myself to ever buy another GM vehicle again.
I drive a 2007 GMC 1500 now. The wife’s a 2004 Ford Expedition, which was our first Ford. When we do replace them, we plan to buy Ford.
I’ve got a friend using the Eco-Boost 3.5L F150 to pull a 4-horse trailer with living quarters. Quite a bit more responsive then those pulling with different 3/4 ton diesels, which was my plan before talking to him.
You know what causes those blower control modules to blow? lack of air, many people do not realize they even have a “Cabin Filter” and that when it plugs up their is a reduced amount of air cooling those heatsinks. Thats why they are in the air plenum, what GM or others really should address is a sensor letting the owner know when the air restriction reaches a certain point.
I try to change mine at least once a year and half way at around 6 months I take them out and use compressed air to rid them of the heavy particulates, they plug up faster if you are a smoker of course.
yes you can just go without one but in the long run you risk plugging up the heater core with junk.

Yeh we would too if they will agree to remove the GPS tracking system. Mr. GG2 was talking about trading in the Dodge for new 150 but now I think he’s a little put off.
We love our 04 Explorer and bought a Ford Edge a couple of years ago as a second car. We hate the Ford Touch screen and apparently thousands of others do also.
I would purchase a new Explorer if Ford eliminates the touch screen and brings back button controls.

Fords do not like me, every one I have owned bite me the first chance they get, like an ornery mule.
Could be. No insult intended. None of my friends is in the business of pulling a really large trailer. Mostly just bringing in logs, or hay bails, or towing a medium trailer with a tractor on it or the like.
2105 model-doubt I’ll live to see it...
