My friend and her mom just rented a car at the Fort LauderdaleHollywood airport and found this in the back seat...

There is no freaking way someone is going to leave that AR in car with knowing it’s missing. This has to be a joke.

Generally speaking, private individuals who are true firearms enthusiasts spending bid bucks on a rig like that, are seldom the ones who lose track of them. You can bet that rig was paid for and supplied by you and me. Somewhere out there a fed is, ahem, “passing” bricks right now, wondering how she’s going to explain it all away. Seen it happen. More than once.
They’re good to go in FL. Hell, in FL it could have even been a Class III. WOO HOO!
I’d bet they were on the way to the SHOT show in Vegas.
It doesn’t appear to be an air soft either.
I had a case where the defendant got caught with his dead wife’s body in his trunk. I represented her two children in the probate case. He had been stopped for expired tags and had a warrant out for unpaid parking tickets. LOL. You just can’t make this stuff up.
It’s a well suped up piece of kit. If this really happened, I’d be finders keepers lol.
You didn’t see the orange paint on the tip of the barrel? LOL!
Thank you sir. I would do this partly out of altruism, but partly out of selfishness: I find that acting honorably tends to come back to me in other ways. Karma, y’know.
They found a 3-D printer?
Really? Total BS
The person who left the gun isn’t repsonsible enough to keep it in my opinion.
You are ALWAYS supposed to be aware of the location of your weapon.
The rental agency was too busy trying to make a claim that there was forbidden cigarette smoking in the vehicle to notice the weapon.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet rig, man!!!
Tell ya what I’d do.
I’d take it for a quick test drive at the range. Then clean it really well. Then call the rental car company to find out the owner’s contact info. Then take it to them. (I think I used, “then,” way too many times. LOL!)
You may even get a small reward for the return of said item.

I’ll alert the media.
If this was unintentional...someone is looking for this weapon.
Traveling alone is a nightmare... The guy probably had 3 other bags, a laptop, and was trying to download boarding passes on his phone as he was rushing to the gate to make his flight.
I especially empathize with young mothers traveling alone with 2 toddlers and a baby... alone. That is outrageous in my mind.
The car should be checked for water damage as it was likely in a bay or a river when a FReeper boating accident occurred.
