The Cleveland Indians are changing their primary logo from the traditional Chief Wahoo to the far less polarizing Block C, according to Uni Watchs Paul Lukas.
There wont be any changes to the Indians uniforms, and the Chief Wahoo logo will still appear on the clubs home cap and sleeves.
Fans probably wont notice too much of a difference at least next season in the wake of this change. There will be less of Chief Wahoo and more of the Block C, but Chief Wahoo will still be kicking around.
Chief Wahoo has been the clubs primary logo since the 1940s.
Clevelands logo change is noteworthy, though. While Chief Wahoo is revered by many Indians fans, others feel that it is racist toward Native Americans. It now appears that the organization is trying to de-emphasize the Chief Wahoo logo, although the club has never admitted such.

Current
Went to an Cleveland vs Angels game once and the most outlandish Indian gear was worn by real indians. What a hoot!
The Pirates will no longer use a cartoon Pirate as their primary logo, and will replace it with their familiar gold "P." The old Pirate will still be featured on the sleeves of uniforms, but most items available for sale will feature the P and not the picture of the Pirate.
I suspect some kind of league policy about using letter logos as the primary, since the Pirate image logo is presumably non-controversial. Any other teams make similar moves?
Next up, I am an animal rights minority group and I am offended by Bears, Panthers, Rams, Lions, Cubs and Tigers. BAN THESE OFFENSIVE NAMES!!
It is hard to watch Art Evans' great logos be replaced by bland committee/agency crap.

Wrong Answer!!!
Give the leftists nothing, ever.
The leftists aren’t interested in eliminating racist symbols.
The leftists are interested solely in controlling YOU (yes, you, personally) in every asped of your lives, great and small.
We lived in San Diego in the early 70s and went to the Padres games all the time, back when they were perennial losers.
Did they change the logo because Franciscans complained, or was it atheists?
I guess the upside to this is the bootleggers can infringe to their hearts content.
BINGO!!!!!!! We have a winner.
I guess this means they’re going to have to disappear all those copies of the movie “Major League” and “Major League II” in the same manner other PC offenders have been sent to the gulag. Examples would include “Song of the South,” “Hekyll and Jeckel,” and multiple WW2 vintage Warner Bros. and Disney cartoon.
In all it's glory the logo read "PADRES!"
WHen I read the headline, I thought of “Cell Block C”. Don’t know why.
Cleveland Caucasians!
ok, I like yours better.
The “C” stands for caucasians.
The school I attended from 1966 to 1974 had a similar mascot and we were even called the “Cherokee Injuns” - no attempt at political correctness there. I felt a little silly wearing the football uniform (which featured the mascot on the front of the jersey) - but have never figured out how come - if this is so offensive - why are tribal Viking cartoon mascots completely fine, and all of Scandinavia isn’t in an uproar about it? So trivial!
Don’t forget Dumbo.
Politically Incorrect all the way through, from Dumbo being bullied because of his ears, through Dumbo getting drunk, visiting his mom in the slammer, and taking refuge amongst the jive-talkin’ crows!
Not to mention the underage flying without a license.
