I tweaked my Windows 7 Desktop a bit,you can see it below.
FR should have a Tech section,where people can ask how to tweak of fix their Computers.

I like it. It takes a little getting used to
I had XP which was great and I was fortunate enough to miss out on Vista.

Nice,see alot of minimal desktops out there,got a one click shortcut on mine when I get tired,reduces it to just the clock and taskbars.

I had XP, Vista upgraded to Win 7, and now a new Windows 8.1 to replace my 10 year old XP laptop. 8.1 took me about a month to find all the features. I bought the Windows 8.1 for Dummies book. It has been very helpful.
Overall I like 8.1

You must live on the equator!!! Equator?? I'm a long way north of the equator. I just finished mowing my lawn, it's 73 degrees F here in the desert.
