It was certainly a close encounter, but with precisely what remains a mystery.
An airline pilot has reported a near miss in which a rugby ball-shaped UFO passed within a few feet of his passenger jet while flying near Heathrow Airport.
The captain told the aviation authorities who have investigated the incident that he was certain the object was going to crash into his aircraft and ducked as it headed towards him.
The investigation has been unable to establish any earthly identity for the mysterious craft, which left the aircrew with no time to take evasive action.
The incident occurred while the A320 Airbus was cruising at 34,000ft, around 20 miles west of the airport, over the Berkshire countryside.

Here’s a phrase that apparently the airlines simply made up: ‘near miss.’ They say that if 2 planes almost collide, it’s a near miss. BS, my friend. It’s a near hit! A collision is a near miss.

Well, whoever kicked that rugby ball should be signed by an NFL team that needs a good placekicker.

What was the destination?
34K at 20 miles out isn’t an approach vector to Heathrow. I agree with the weather balloon comment...

No,it wasn't a UFO....it was an A380 or 747 and the crew *thinks* it was a UFO because they had been imbibing adult beverages for 4 hours before having seen it.

Why report it then? The aircraft made no evasive maneuver, so there was no discomfort for passengers. Reporting these sightings gets nothing but negative response, like the foolishness you posted. So why report it if they were actually drinking and ‘hallucinating’?
