German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County is working with Rebuilding Warriors to match rescued dogs from high kill shelters with veterans. So far two dogs have been accepted, see links for one of them. The other is in training and she is doing well.

I think http://www.gsroc.org/ is a great organization - I recall a few years back they saved a German Shephard that was abused and practically at death’s door and it made the news.

Pretty cool too how the first date between him & his (future) wife was a deer hunting excursion. :o) Maybe the couple who hunts together stays together?
