Dr. Kenneth Edelin, a Boston physician at the center of a landmark abortion case in the 1970s, died Monday morning in Sarasota, Florida. He was 74.
Edelins wife, Barbara, confirmed that he died after suffering from cancer. She said that her husband was a great teacher and mentor, guiding many young doctors over his career. He was a great advocate for the rights of women to have choice in their own reproductive freedom, Barbara Edelin said. Particularly for women of color and other minorities. [ ]
Edelin made national headlines when he was convicted of manslaughter in 1975 for performing an abortion. That was two years after the U.S. Supreme Court legalized the procedure with its decision on Roe v. Wade. According to NAACP Legal Defense Fund, the Massachusetts Supreme Court later overturned Edelins guilty verdict, in a case that helped legally define what an abortion is and when human life begins.

A baby-killer bites the dust. Burn in hell.
and now the judgment....
not-quite instant, but karma all the same
He’s got plenty of time to say “oops”...
Eugenics is so easy for liberals.
Happy day for the world. A monster has died. Now he will learn what a mistake he life was.
One more serial killer dies.
An eternity of hearing the screams of the children he murdered.
Let’s see - IIRC, this is the case where the doctor could not complete the abortion vaginally, so he performed a C-section (which his defenders called a hysterotomy, as the intent was not to deliver a live baby), severed the umbilical cord, and then held the infant (excuse me, fetus) inside the uterus until he could deliver it dead.
Sort of like Gosnell of Philadelphia, only cleaner, more credentialed, and found not guilty.
The ultimate infanticide is the PC death of the baby Jesus. Abortion advocates would have demanded this baby’s death. His mother was obviously mentally ill, claiming she remained a virgin throughout her pregnancy. The abortion of every baby stands as a testimony that Jesus is not God.
Burn, baby, burn - now it’s your turn to feel the pain.
Its not where but which level.
Law cannot define define when life begins.
Life is a continuum. A living sperm and living ovum combine to form a living zygote; there is never a time when anything is not alive. The nervous system begins to form at about 3 weeks; at this point, one can say that the embryo begins to be aware. There is *no* beginning point at which one can say that something unalive has become alive. Scientifically, it just isn't there. And it is ludicrous to claim that one can define such a point with human laws.
Well, Dr Edelin, good luck in your new location. You’re going to need it.
Prayers for a deeply misguided soul.
That’s what caught my eye also!
The legal question to me should hinge not on conception but on implantation. Human life begins at conception because it can begin at no other point in time. However, pregnancy begins at implantation. Abortion ends pregnancy by killing the fetus. That tells me all I need to know about abortion to know it is evil, and when a person has an abortion to end a pregnancy, they have killed a human being.
A simple positive pregnancy test is all that is needed because abortions aren't performed on people who are not pregnant. Case closed.
