I’ve seen all the RevWar series since the first 1 back in ‘94, “American Revolution”.

13-part series on the RW titled The American Revolution, or simply The Revolution. It apparently had these 2 slightly different titles. I've included a YouTube link to it at the end.

Episodes were:

“Boston, Bloody Boston.”
The controversies and conflicts leading to war, including the Stamp Act, the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, and the Battles of Lexington and Concord.

“Rebellion to Revolution.”
The Revolutionaries lay siege to Boston; the formation of the Continental Army and the conscription of slaves by both sides.

“Declaring Independence.”
Dark and devastating struggles challenge the dreams for independence in 1776.

“American Crisis.”
General George Washington gambles on a brilliant yet dangerously daring stroke to save his army and America.

“Path to World War.”
Benjamin Franklin tries to convince the French to join the fight against Britain; Philadelphia falls to the British; the Americans win a stunning victory at Saratoga and gain a new ally.

“Forging an Army.”
Washington struggles to sustain and rebuild his Army at Valley Forge.

“Treason & Betrayal.”
General Benedict Arnold betrays the revolution.

“The War Heads South.”
The British lay siege to Charleston.

“Hornet’s Nest.”
War erupts in the Southern Colonies.

“The End Game.”
The struggle for independence reaches its climax as both sides are tired of the war.

“Becoming a Nation.”
King George III is forced by the parliament to sue for peace and Washington disbands the Continental Army

“Road to the Presidency.”
The War is over, but Washington is enlisted for another duty.

“A President and His Revolution.”
While Washington is on his way to be inaugurated as the first US president, he looks back at some defining moments in the revolution.

There is a wonderful historic novel “The Unvanquished” by Howard Fast that follows Washington through the New York city campaign then the winter retreat through New Jersey and up to the crossing.

Sounds like a good one. Thanks.

It truly is an amazing story how Washington kept it all together and found a way, against unbelievable odds and circumstances, to defeat the mighty, much superior (on paper), British army. Yet all many liberal historians/revisionists can do is knock the guy.

Great history movies....thanks....

But note the BAD TEETH of all the British historian commentators........

The Spanish have a popular phrase to describe the British....

The tall sun-burnt people with bad teeth...

Result of 70 years of Government run SINGLE PLAYER "Health Care"

Just to give an insight of how Obamacare will end up.

Yet all many liberal historians/revisionists can do is knock the guy.

They can not allow the world to recognize Washington for what he was and what he did nor what he ounce meant to the entire world as the one who brought forth freedom and liberty for the common people. Because ounce the common people re-realized that their counterrevolution to reinstate world wide tyranny would collapse in on them.

Absolutely true. Darn shame we basically sat back and let them (liberals and lefties) take control of everything: pop culture, media, school system, on and on, dangerous misguided fools that they are.

Thanks for the recommendation! I just ordered these from Netflix (our reception is sometimes not good so we don’t do a lot of streaming). Look like a great addition to our homeschooling program. Thanks!!

Can anyone imagine Barack Obama doing that?

FYI: there are free programs available on the internet that allow you to download YouTube and other videos, including the above linked DailyMotion.com. This way you won’t have the streaming problem. One such program which is very easy to use is called simply “YouTube Downloader” (YDT), or “YouTube Video Downloader” (same thing, new name):

http://download.cnet.com/YTD-Video-Downloader/3000-2071_4-10647340.html

Only thing is you need to be careful installing it as to not accept the additional programs they will offer during the process. Be sure to select the “advanced” option during the install.

It’s not really that advanced. It just displays (clearly) exactly what it is that they’re asking you to include as an additional download. These additional things include stuff like a toolbar and default search engine. But, again, just select the advanced option. It’ll be clear once you do it.

Did a little checking on Howard Fast. He was a very prolific writer from the 1930s up until the beginning of this century. Seems to have done all sorts of writings, history and historic novels (mainly interested in our revolution and biblical times), eyewitness history, science fiction, mysteries, plain novels, scripts for film and TV. Even had a few books made into films, notably “The Crossing” and “Spartacus”. He did some writings that were pro communist that got him blacklisted but he weathered that well and even wrote about that too.

Great history movies....thanks...

All are approximate 50-min episodes from a documentary series.

Lol. Not exactly the kind of guy we want teaching our kids history. Then again, communists do love the idea of a good revolution, don't they. So in that sense at least perhaps his rendition might be favorable to the rebels.

Thanks! Great info. I’ll have to get that. My kids are a bit young for this show but I think I’ll intro it with the cartoon “Liberty’s Kids” and use that as a springboard for the more serious documentary series. Thanks again!

“Liberty’s Kids”

I was just about to suggest that to you in a quick reply back before reading the rest.

As for the program, again, take the install process slowly and select the “advanced” option each step of the way. There’ll be several popup boxes where you’ll see the option, each for a different program they’re trying to get you to include. Otherwise you’ll have these annoying, totally unnecessary, things on your system. ie, their toolbar, a new search engine which will override the one you have, unless you manually change it back, etc. I think there’s about 3 of these.

Well, some of the best anti-communists around today were once communists themselves. David Horowitz, Ronald Radosh, and perhaps a surprise to some, black conservative columnist Thomas Sowell, who was when he was in his 20s.

That is the c. 2010 show. I was speaking of the 1994 documentary, the first to seriously cover this subject heavily. Then there was “the Revolutionary War”, then “Liberty!”, and so on. Nice to finally have the most important war recognized for a change, because growing up there was nothing.

The reenactment is an annual event. I recall some years ago it was cancelled because it was too cold. Wondered at the time what George would have done.

George went ahead.

His subordinate counterparts to the south did not. He ended up alone at Trenton when in fact they were supposed to surround it.

Many visitors celebrate Christmas with their families and friends on Christmas Eve then enjoy supporting and sharing with their children an event that reminds them of the great gift of Freedom. If you can’t make it on Christmas Day then mark your calendar for the Sunday two weeks prior to Christmas to see the full dress rehearsal.
