Watch the epic, century-spanning saga of Alex Haleys family with Roots, Roots: The Gift and Alex Haley's Queen this holiday on BET.
Roots tells the story of the journey of Alex Haleys family from Africa to America, from slavery to freedom. An incredible cast, which includes Cicely Tyson, John Amos, Maya Angelou and LeVar Burton, helps make Roots a must-see event for any generation.
I dunno. As pointed out on some of the food groups on usenet, it's not Christmas until the Food Network runs Sandra Lee's (aka "Aunt Sandy", "SLop", etc.) Kwanza Cake abomin..., er, epi.
his mothers side is all white back to England..
I have never, nor will I ever, watch that fraud.
Almost 50 years later there are about 1.5 million blacks with african names that "celebrate" kwanzaa as an alternative to Christmas, usually by eating grubs and crickets.
The true bigots and race pimps will find this post to be racist but I'm OK with that.
Merry Christmas to all.
Kwanzaa, invented in 1966 by a black convict named Ron Everret, who changed his name to Maulana Karenga, from his prison cell as an expression of his hate for anything white.

Here’s the thread
Is Kwanzaa Fading Away?

I see no White Entertainment Television channel, Asian Entertainment Television channel, Hispanic Entertainment Television channel, or AmerInd Entertainment Television channel, but no one complains about BET? Wait until the muzzies find out they can get their own channel by screaming about racism against them yet again.
He would have to go back allot farther than the Jews, the BlACKS IN America BEFORE 1865, OR even most European who escaped the slavery of serfdom that was the norm in Europe for the majority of human history.
Last year, my husband and I were the only white people at my neighbors’ Christmas party. Roots was playing in the great room the entire time. The women were awful to me but I really relished the experience of being able to have that much power over someone’s emotions. The men were fine with us. I was the life of the party. When I walked into the great room and what was on TV I loudly exclaimed “Roots! Really?” I also announced to the crowd that I bet I was the only one in the house who didn’t vote for Barack Obama. Man, that was a fun party.
I’m a slave, to a degree.
If slavery is the same as a 100% income tax rate, then anyone who pays such a tax is a slave to government to some extent.
Many people that I know are white African-Americans.
Kwanzaa, which is Swahili for “Fake holiday made up by Godless Communist, to lead Black Christians astray.”
To be perfectly honest I never watched it.
Progressives are such wonderful people. They condemn slavery. (Who does not?) However, according to progressive ideology, slavery is a perfectly legitimate institution in some circumstances. Check out the Morgenthau Plan and the Yalta Agreement, both of which provide for “enforced labor.”
I was wondering what the heck Roots had to do with the Christmas holiday.
Thanks for connecting the dots for me. Duh!
Ya. And Rich Man Poor Man. That was on TV not too long ago.
