am thinking of making the announcement to those who matter by putting my new email in a “vacation” message, then turning off yahoo email - if I ever get back in
problem is I manage hundreds of contacts via email lists to serve multiple projects for my nonprofit
I pity anyone who uses Yahoo as part of trying to earn a living
Same here. All my email accounts are down.
There is a link in this thread that lets you access your email account.

Warning, I used that link, signed off my account. Now I cannot get back in. Oh well, need to go do some Christmas shopping.

The NEW IMPROVED! yahoo is trying to be a copy of gmail. I hate the unavoidable chaining of email and the loss of most of the tools I used. Wouldn’t shutting down the system be easier than trying to induce everyone to go somewhere else?
Me too. Something is out of kilter.
Merry Christmas from Yahoo Mail!!
My Yahoo mail acted up so much over the last 6 months that I’ve switched to mail.AOL.com. Heck, I was even PAYING for Yahoo, and they screwed up my mail!
Yeah, first Target, now Yahoo. Who’s next?
Same thing happened to me about ten days ago. My mail was out for two days. I reported it. I got a follow up incident number and an “all is well” email from them later. I guess I was in the first round...
No problems here.
Just tried it again and all working okay— So far!
“The improved Yahoo mail is so bad Im looking for alternatives (dreading having to make all those change notifications, tho)”
Yea, this will be my last go with this tomfoolery. I get the unsecured content message more and more even in the “secure” email system, it use to just be the log-in screen. Why have advertisements on a log-in screen, stupid is as stupid does. Gmail is NOT an option after what I know about them.
One of my Y accounts is down, the other is ok.
Consider Vertical Response (free) or Revolution By Email ($30/year).
What's u'p wit'h th'e unnecessar'y apostroph'e? Like other possessive pronouns, (e.g.. ours, its, his, hers, theirs), the word "yours" does not include an apostrophe. Apostrophes are properly used to denote possessive nouns (e.g., Jim's, Mary's, the Martians').
But unlike Obamacare, Yahoo has already fixed the issue.
I used to like Yahoo's mail service, but they made a lot of changes last fall that made it worse, so I, too am phasing out of Yahoo. I wish they had heeded the old saying that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I just tried my Yahoo Mail. No problem.
I think I still have the ‘classic’ view.
I usually ‘read’ any Yahoo Mail through a standalone reader: Pop Peeper. It works with both Yahoo and Gmail.
Google has long used a similar system to deliver advertising to Gmail users. Yahoo! is now following suit and has defended itself by emphasising it is asking users for their permission.
We think transparency is key because our business depends almost entirely on the trust of our users, a spokesman said.
The smartphone app has been working ok for me today...I don’t go near the Yahoo website anymore. They destroyed Yahoo Groups with their changes.
Yahoo used to be the go-to but Obama’s clone must be CEO over there...
