It sure helped!
I know that Obama is good excuse to drink beer!
Early humans were HUNTERS, GATHERERS and FISHERMEN. Pimping and whoring only started when there was excess time and money for such nonsense. The early humans didn't have any spare time.
After hunters, gatherers and fishermen, the professions of healers and cooks probably got their start.
Some people have no common sense.
They had a whole Discovery Channel show on this topic. It was very interesting.
Beer without nachos (or at least chips and dip) makes no sense whatsoever.
And of what value is beer and chips without football?
Have a pint, mate, ping.
Check out the “documentary” “How Beer Saved the World”, its available on Netflix. Very fascinating.
“Some scientists claim beer - not bread - is the reason early man adopted a society based on farming around 10,000 years ago..”
And so God made a farmer......
I’m not sure about agriculture, but mankind’s technological development was driven by the desire and need for weapons development.
I seem to remember learning in school that the wheel was invented so that they could drive to the beer store....
Well we all know ALL GREAT THINGS start with “Here, hold my beer”
“Here come those hunter-gatherers again. Hide the beer and bring out the grain.”
“But Leader, it’s the beer they want!”
“I know what I’m doing...”
I clicked on this thread just to see the comments. Amd was not disappointed........LOL
Noah rings a bell lol
Beer, mead, wine ... all presumably discovered when found that wet grains/honey/grapes were mushed up and let sit for a couple weeks, the result tasted interesting, had enjoyable effects, and (very important) provided a safe/sanitized form of water when clean water was hard to come by. Creating it deliberately wasn’t hard once the process was figured out. Acquiring enough of the sugared base was more problematic, leading toward relocating plants (or buzzing “livestock”) and cultivating them, which led to some people having to settle nearby indefinitely - hence agriculture. Brewing requires large containers for water and must - hence pottery manufacturing. Resultant large quantities of alcohol need selling - hence commerce. Sure these organized activities could arise without alcohol, but safe nutritious enjoyable drink helped immensely.
Go read “The History of the World in Six Glasses” for an engaging overview, from beer to Coke.
Even back then, it was hard having females around. Yak, yak, yak, yak yak!!
Beer. Is there anything it CAN’T do?
I’d need a few brews before going out to hunt a saber-toothed tiger.
