The validity of an argument is not dependent on the duration of a poster’s freepership. Or indeed anything else about the poster.
Refute an argument if you can, but what you are describing in the inverse of the fallacy of Appeal to Authority.

OK—I’m all ears.
Why is Stockman not viable?
Seriously, I would like to know, as I am in DE, so TX politics are foreign to me.

Those are the posters that think that because they have been on FR for a long time that they are some kind of royalty
Sounds like happy hour started early at the Bat Lady house...........

IB-IBTZ. You can figure that one out for yourself.
Since you’ve lurked here for thirteen years, surely you know that defending your position against Stockman as a viable candidate is preferable to posting a vanity taking on all comers?
Good luck to you. I have the feeling you’ll need it.

How about growing a thicker skin?
What is more unreasonable, someone disagreeing with your opinion or calling for all of FR to change because you can’t handle that?

Every election cycle, new posters show up to slam conservative candidates, and to sow uncertainty and doubt with their lies and half truths.
Every election cycle.
I'll be voting for Stockman in the primary, btw.

Newbs are not picked on because they are newbs. I don't pass over a name, attempting to learn the sign up, unless some little reaction happens on my BS meter that makes me suspect that the FR in question is a plant from liberal blog hood.
Many times the ones I suspect the strongest have early signup dates. I'm paranoid enough to suspect that they've gotten access to an abandoned persona or somehow managed to changed the signup date.
It's nothing that can be proven. So answer the challenge when you meet it, if you're on the level.

You are correct that many a smarmy CReeper think they know all simply because of sign up dates. Stick with it you’ll be ok!

Agreed. As throughout the internet, there’s a contingent in FR that vents a lot of venom and hatred (personal problems guised behind political rants). These are those who forget what we and America stand for: ardent vigilance but respect for the dignity of the individual; a free society but also a well-mannered society. This is what our founders lived and died for.

From a quick glance, I agree. Stockman sounds like a great conservative but not a viable candidate. One does not make the other and vice versa.
Not that the situation can’t change, but as of right now Stockman’s got alot of work to do.

I [for one] am always glad to see newcomers joining the mix. Being compulsive in many ways, I can't understand how lurkers resist getting involved.
Isn't it great to see the rise in monthly donors?

No fun until you try posting during election cycles — against candidate A or B or C or D.
The ‘incoming’ can be massive and you need a thick skin and asbestos underware.

But, that is part of the ‘culture of the Internet.’ You either accept it and continue or not.
