The prospect of a new television action drama by the Israeli writer of the popular “Homeland” series being set in Jerusalem has raised the ire of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, which wants the plan stopped and is already calling for a boycott of the production.
The PLO expends considerable energy challenging historical Jewish links to Israel’s capital and clearly views the proposed series, which will have a strong archeology theme, as a threat to that effort.
Entitled “DIG,” and scheduled to debut in the U.S. on NBC’s USA Network late next year, the six-episode series features “an FBI agent stationed in Jerusalem who, while investigating a murder of a woman archaeologist, uncovers a conspiracy 2,000 years in the making that threatens to change the course of history,” Israel’s Keshet Media Group said when announcing the project last month. …

That’s a plan I can support.
I’m guessing that if the promo for the show had used the Arabic name of Al-Kuds instead of Jerusalem, the Palestinians would have ignored the whole thing.
If it had a talking horse like Mister Ed which constantly argued that Willlllburrrr should pick up and move back to wherever he came from, they’d also go for that. :’)
I think that an Israeli-funded production company could have a blast doing a history of Israel, and how bitter, violent and obnoxious the Arabs have been in trying to snatch it away from the Jews.
It could throw in all sorts of stuff, like western countries and the UN complaining that Israel was defending itself against attack, as well as naming names of US and European politicians who are bitterly hateful towards Israel. Lots of pictures of screaming and violent Arabs.
Lots of file footage, anonymous narration, then direct to DVD and pirate download on the Internet, with a limited copyright of free distribution, but only without modification.

Well, the other side of that argument is, should Spain Portugal and Italy give themselves to Arab Islams? After all, they were conquered by Arab Muslims at one, then driven out. Islam tried to conquered all the known world several times, and have been driven out. It’s the way it is. Get over it. The only reason Islam wants to “hold on to” the Temple Mount and jerusalem, is to prevent the return of Jesus Christ. Odd that Islam believes more in who Jesus is than most Christians. In the 10th Century, Muslims thought Jesus might intervene on the Crusaders behalf, so knowing that Scriptures say Jesus would enter the Temple mount though the Eastern Gate, they sealed it up to prevent Jesus. Then, knowing that Jesus is King and High Priest and can’t touch anything unclean, they created and maintain a Muslim graveyard outside the Eastern Gate. Finally, Arab Muslims own the top of the Mount of Olives to prevent Jesus from descending from Heaven onto ground owned by an unclean Gentile. Yes, Muslims are afraid of Jesus, afraid He will come back, and Islam will be proven a fraud. Why are people afraid to talk about and admit this? We could move so much further in solving this problem if we just talk about the facts. Jesus said Jerusalem would be a stumbling block to the entire world until He returns. And it is the worlds greatest stumbling block right now. Return Jerusalem to Israel, establish the Temple Mount as the holiest of holies for the Jews, allow all followers of Jesus Christ access to the Mount, Preach the Torah nationwide, prepare the way for the Coming King, Repent, and know that Yaweh is God, and He will redeem us. Remember, we as Christians follow and believe in a Torah following and preaching Jewish Rabbi named Yeshua, and He ultimately will be the king over all the earth. And the Jews are the Promised people, given a covenant from Yaweh that lasts forever. The sooner we embrace this, the sooner we will have world peace.
