Temperatures are heading down again. Sleet and Snow are on the way again. Please tell me where Globull Warming is again, because our little chill is here again.
Johnny says his is not a normal day. Well I didn't have a normal week. School was closed all week. My grand daughter is a tween, and now suffering from cabin fever, as the snain has been falling for quite some time today.
I am filling up my report with weather, because gardeining is almost totally at a stand still here on the One Acre Ranch deep in the heart of the little chill.
Coming up for Lupper (Late Lunch/Early Supper) is Hash Brown Mix. That's hash browns cooked in fat with all sorts of leftovers-like onions, peppers, ham-anything you need to use up.LOL
My gardening report is simple and dull. I have watered plants, turned grow lights on and off. Inspected the plants, they'll need a bath this weekend. The big excitement was 2 fooled you jalepenos that I picked and added to the pickled pepper jar.
I am hoping for some reports from somewhere of moderate temps, and gardening activites - any pictures of food or flowers would be welcome. If any one is desperately seeking gardening activities for the winter, you might want to check out www.wintersown.org.
They have a method that can get you started very early, and also sometimes some free seeds and small quantities cheap to try out something new. I do not know their religion, politics, or anything else about them, but their method will help you use up those milk jugs you might have been putting off disposing of in the cold weather.
Marcella has posted a good report on the containers on last week's thread. Thanks Marcella. They should hire you for marketing. Thanks to your post, I am now planning on buying 2 sets instead of one.LOL
Have a great weekend everyone. God Bless
Time to start my tomatoes indoors.
It was sub zero the last week in Vegas, going out now to see what died. Maybe my grapefruit tree. I think I saved my Meyers lemon.
Pinging the List.
The stubborn little tobacco plant, repotted. Who would have thought I'd be growing tobacco in December?
Things are back to normal, and I'm back home. Love the grandkids, but I can only handle so much of them.

I got nuthin’. Chickens are well, but no eggs now. That’s all the excitement from round here.
Got a couple of seed catalogs in the mail. I’ll be browsing through them as soon as cookie baking season and the Christmas holiday is over. The week between Christmas and New Years is when I start thinking of what to plant next spring.
But I feel the need to caution our friends in Florida and California about the dangers of decorating palm trees...be careful out there.

Benderville is suffering from Gorebull warming with 11 straight nights of below average Temps with new lows set on at least 6 of them with one of 24 degrees. Keep in mind that the Botanical Gardens considers this area as a “Mediterranean Climate” and we rarely get that many cold nights in a row. I had one broken pipe in the driveway that I was able to fix but the Church has a broken above ground back flow preventer that we had to install for the irrigation system and someone else will have to fix that one. It was clear and got up to 56 today so I was in the garden for 3 hours this afternoon putting mulch on the one bed that didn’t get planted to a cover crop. I took a good look at the garlic and it’s not as great as I thought it was with a couple of varieties that are only showing 70% but they could still make it.
Freezing rain most of the day here in CoMO. Don’t think I’ll be fetching any horse poo this weekend. Been thinking I need to build a cold frame but my lumber pile is outside so nothing doing there either. I guess I’ll just watch football and drink beer all weekend. LOL
“Snain” = snow/rain? LOLOLOL!
Hi greeneyes and everyone!
The Baker Creek catalog arrived. Oh goodie! I’m learning to indulge in the gardener’s disease, or should I say, guilty pleasure (?), of dreaming of the next garden!
The parsley I left outside snuggied up against the south wall of the house in the herb garden so far has not totally succumbed to the recent snow and freezing weather we had. The indoor pot seems ok, but I’m noticing that there are little insect fauna inhabiting the potted plant area. Can anyone tell me if diatomaceous earth could help that out? Some of them are spider like, and some are fruit fly kinds of critters.
The last 2 okra pods have finally dried out and I plan to reap the seeds from them in next couple of days.
Santa came early and I’ll be having a new green garden wagon under the tree!!!! It’s even fitted with a dumper!(SHHHHHHHH don’t tell Darlin I know!!!)
We bought a few new strand of Christmas lights to add to our tiny display. Hope I have the energy to put them up this year! Haven’t sent out cards yet.
A number of years ago I had a job that required that I work a lot during the Christmas Season, and I decided at that time that it didn’t matter if everything got done by Dec 25. It COULDN’T!! so I developed the philosophy that I would celebrate Christmas until the Wisemen get there! That is much easier on the stress levels! LOL!
