Politics: VIDEO: New Glock commercial sure to infuriate liberals everywhere
CainTV ^

"Somebody picked the wrong girl."

You'd think the party that claims to support strong, independent women would love her. OK, no you wouldn't. Because they don't. The party in question loves a woman who knows where to go to get government benefits. A woman like this is doing it all wrong:

actually a lot more dramatic and intense than you might have expected. Every time she goes back to the couch (what is she watching, by the way?) and sits down, only to hear that ominous knock on the door once again, you're really starting to get concerned that the perp might get in before she's armed and ready.

Very inaccurate. If the guy had kicked in the be door instead of knocking (higher probability), would she have had the time to :

Make it over to the sofa

Reach under it and pull out the gun safe

Put her hand on it for proper biometric identification

Wait several seconds

Pull out gun

Point at intruder?

They are telling women that as long as you have a gun, you are safe. Not so. It needs to be on or near to your perso n for events just such as this.

1. It should have been in her PURSE, not a safe at home while she’s out.
2. It should have been on the couch next to her as she sits alone and watches TV.
3. It should have been in her hand at the first knock.

on or near to your person

Correct ... never further than ten feet away. Lasers are helpful too to place aim.

>> I’d like to see truth in some of these ‘fight back’ commercials.

Yep.

Bet it’d sell more guns, too, if the perp actually looked like 80% of the perps really do.

Too bad it was a commercial instead of real life

It is a commercial about real life.

>> A beginner should have a thumb safety and a loaded chamber indicator.

? Our glocks each have a loaded chamber indicator.

No Deadbolt on the door. he wouldn’t even have to kick it in but jimmy it.
At the 2nd knock I would have called the cops. and had my pistol at the ready

do they have thumb safeties too? The loaded chamber indicator on the Taurus is almost impossible to miss. The loaded chamber indicator on the Glock is almost impossible to notice.

I disagree with the whole purse carry mentality. It seems like a good idea but the purse is the first thing a thug is going to grab and that could make drawing impossible.

Perhaps I should have said “On her PERSon”.

There are courses on defending oneself by shooting THROUGH the purse, so there is no fumbling for the weapon.

It’s a little different than just swinging a purse over one’s shoulder.

But I DO understand what you are saying. I would rather be able to have a nice hip holster tied down at the leg like a cowgirl, but it’s a little hard to conceal! LOL!

Bah! Why risk the dangers of a Glock when you can just carry a rape whistle, keys in between the fingers, a stun gun, a buddy, and refusing to fight back </sarc>

I picked up on a subtle part of the ad that was excellent. The pistol lock box secured the weapon but was easily opened with just two presses on the combo without looking enabling her quick and effective access to the loaded firearm. That should help nail the issue with guns in the wrong untrained hands. (Read: Children)

Another plus....It appears to me that the gal trained for this potential threat often. Believe me, training is a must when presented with threat under stress.

Great ad GLOCK!

Even though I personally think the Glock hand gun is the ugliest handgun ever made! :-) You got it. I'm a SIG fan.

I’m so sick of that, too. An alien monitoring our commercials would come to earth and run away screaming every time it saw a white male.

Yep, Yep and Yep!!!!! And sticking her beak right up to the door, (looking thru the peep hole), at the first knock is inviting being knocked out, and thus 100% defenseless, if the perp decided to violently hard crash that door into her nose/face/head with no further knocking at that point. Paranoid?....Nope just being prepared.

Indeed!

As a woman living alone in a semi-tough neighborhood, I do appreciate the ad, but would tweak it somewhat.

No

I don’t have any problem figuring out at a glance if a round is chambered. The Glock chambered-round indicator is tactile, too; you can easily tell in the dark by feeling it with your trigger finger (if you’re right handed, anyhow).

Liberal women can use their appearance and personality to protect against rapists.

The commercial I’m waiting for is one showing a married couple sleeping in bed. Cut to a shot of two kids in the bedroom next to the master. Cut back to the shot of the couple sleeping, and the sound of glass breaking in the kitchen.

Dad wakes up to hear more than one person coming down the hall toward the bedrooms.

Dad reaches for the phone and dials 911.

Voiceover: “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.”

The S&W logo fills the screen.

That would make the ‘daisy’ political campaign ad look like a first grader’s art project.

It was a good add in a way to get folks thinking about having a weapon handy at all times. Violent drug whacked out home invaders do not ‘announce’ their intentions in a lot of cases. A firearm in the bedroom nightstand or worse, locked in a safe, if a person is sitting on a couch in the living room ain’t gonna cut it it at the moment of truth. When/if that door, or window, explodes inwards a person had better have their weapon at hand and the training, (and the previously learned legal training and knowledge of ‘when to fire-when not to fire’), to use it. They had also better damn well know the ‘aftermath’ SOP, (911 call procedures as in describing your own physical description, what to say, what not to say, how you say it, requesting ambulance and LEO’s, interactions with responding LEO’s, calling a use of deadly force intelligent attorney for just a few of many things), following the use of deadly force.
