An eyewitness said: "He told her she already had enough shoes, more shoes that she could wear in a lifetime, and it was pointless buying any more. She started shouting at him, accusing him of being a skinflint, and of spoiling Christmas. It was a really heated argument."
The argument continued until Hsiao threw the bags on the floor and himself over the balcony, dropping seven stories to his death and smashing Christmas decorations on the way down.

Well, there is that.
Commercial Christmas, not the birth of Christ, is a popular celebration in many parts of Asia. They even have a “holiday” shopping season for the retailers.
One of the most dreaded words that causes strong men to shudder when they see their wives coming upon it are the words ON SALE. It doesn’t matter what it is on sale, the very words send females into shopping overdrive. I’m sure every married man has heard the words “but they were on sale” from his dear wife when she comes home with a load of whatever.

Prior to the 20th century, polygamy was the rule outside of Europe and the European-settled Americas. Men of limited means generally stayed single and rented.
About 30% of Koreans do claim to be Christians, and they aren’t claiming it from tradition or enertia.
And she never went in GAP.
I doubt it. Women have a distinct advantage in getting a partner in China. Due to the 1 child policy and Chinese parents’ preference for male children (as is the case in most of the developing world...where is the concern from feminists?), there are many more men than women in that country.
On the matter of suicide by shopping too much. I don’t go out to malls anymore. I try to buy everything online or at the nearby Wall Mart. I hate crowded malls and the rampant consumerism they elicit.
Ill bet she wont take him along shopping next time.
Freaked out my bf one time. We went to Nordstrom with a 5k account, clear CC and didn’t buy anything. (knew it would)
Unless she has him cremated and carries the ashes!
You bought NOTHING.
Were you really sick that day?
Nope. Just being mischievous.
I discovered that if I can locate the nearest martini bar, the pain of shopping is greatly mitigated.
