LOL! Proof positive that the economic recovery is underway. Now if you could just do something about the fuel prices. Congrats on your new position.

Its tough out there. It looked hopeless and started to think about selling more of my guns.
Screw Obama. that man is the Kiss of death for job growth.

Good for you. PA is a tough place to find work especially in the central part.

that’s what I have been told. it takes the pressure off the place.
I was prepared to work 90 and be reassigned. This was a great gift and God really smiled at me today.

Congrats, but I am curious.
Whys did you quit your other job 7 Months ago in this time of high unemployment?
Just me, but I would think you would find another job before quitting the other one so you could continue receiving a paycheck.
At least that is what I always did, even in times when jobs were easy to find.
Number one priority should be to always keep a steady income, regardless of the Skubala one must put up with at times.
At least that used to be the way things were done.

Good Question. I worked in a lumberyard for 7 years. It was a decent job but at 51 years old it started to take a toll on my body. Was told I was going to be there as long as I worked there. I gambled. It was dangerous these days what with the way things are. I had a few side jobs which kept and soul together.
Yes, it was foolish....took a terrible risk. Almost lost the faith. But in the end the Good Lord took a liking to me. That and constant looking and a lot of waiting.

This is a good post. I have been where you were and are twice in the last 5 years. We are still recovering (slowly and on less income). But we are recovering. I expect when we get through this we will have lost an entire decade of personal wealth and security building.
But, the bills are paid, mostly, we have a home, the family is healthy and our faith is strong. Life is working, though not quite as comfortably as it once was.

After 7 months of sitting on my duff after quitting my old job There are decent jobs to be had but it takes a lot of work and waiting.
Discrepancies abound!
