Any other oldster FReepers remember the 1954 Alabama/Rice Cotton Bowls 12th. man tackle? Oh, yes! Tommy Lewis comes off the bench to tackle Dickie Moegle at mid-field. Nonetheless, Moegle is credited with a 95 yd TD -- the third of four that day.

You have to remember — we’re talking about a team which built half a dozen championship seasons around surreptitious holding by their offensive line.

Rush told the story once about how he asked for Terry Bradshaw's autograph, and Bradshaw refused.
This is AFTER Rush became famous.
And I've never heard Bradshaw described as a "liberal" by any means.
Limbaugh was genuinely hurt.
Wonder what wild hair got up Bradshaw's butt.

Calling him a clown seems a little harsh.I have far harsher terms for Tomlin the Obama Toady. He's an extreme leftist and thus in the enemy camp.
And from a strictly football perspective, momentarily overlooking his self-evident Marxism, Tomlin is on the Rooney Plantation strictly through quotas imposed by the onetime CEO of that organization. What success he had was all through what Bill Cowher put into place.

Yep! Another interesting part to that game, for me anyway, was that my all time favorite player, the GREAT Bart Starr, played in it.

This surprises me. Perhaps I’ve read too much into Rush’s comments, but I don’t get the sense that the liberal Rooneys are fans of Rush.
I understand old Dan has been out there pitching for Obamacare. It’ll be interesting to see if the Catholic hierarchy takes him to the woodshed for that.
My hunch is they won’t dare. In a fight between Danny boy and the church, Danny wins — at least in Western PA. He knows it and the local bishop knows it.

If the video hadn't been cut off just as the ball carrier was getting up it would have shown his reaction. If he immediately pointed at Tomlin or showed a protest to being moved away from the sideline I'd be more inclined to say it was intentional.
But, since the coach's back was turned, I'm not convinced.

Jones does get up immediately after being tackled and yells/points at Tomlin. He had a lot to say about it after the game as well.

Just another cheating coach out there...

Thanks. That tells a much different story than the video, in my opinion.

Goodell nailed Tomlin with a $100K fine. There could be some draft picks taken away, too.

I officiated highschool football for 10-years and only flagged one coach for being on the field.
The big goof was the sideline covering official having to run behind Tomlin...his flag should have been out at the moment that happened. I couldn’t believe Tomlin wasn’t penalized.
Tomlin was trying to be cute and his $100k fine is warranted.
To: MadeInOhio
100k is not enough. Draft picks should be taken away.
I wonder if Tomlin’s smirking today.
