PITTSBURGH (KDKA) The NFL is reviewing whether Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin tried to interfere with a kick return in Baltimore.
The play is being discussed among Steelers fans across Pittsburgh and the entire country.
KDKA has another angle of the play shot exclusively by KDKA-TV photographer Michael Challik.
You can see Tomlin actually take a side-step toward the field, where his foot ends up on the field of play.
He then jumps out of the way when he realized the Ravens kickoff return was heading his way.
Tomlin says he was watching the play on the jumbotron and got disoriented.
The NFL will decide if Tomlins actions were intentional.
Former Steeler punter and co-host of Starkey, Miller and Mueller on 93-7 The Fan, Josh Miller, spoke to NewsRadio 1020 KDKA and said he thinks Tomlin knew what he was doing.
Nothing he does isnt thought out or planned, he knew what he was doing, Miller said. So yes, I think it was intentional.
I say we have the CS’er Rooney Fag Rule for DBs, running backs, and wide receivers. You must try out x number of whites for every position in which they are “under represented.” Rooney is a knob-gnashin’, peter-puffin’ bone-blowin’ bucket of monkey vomit. I do, however, like the fact that the Steelers play outdoors in the NE, on natural grass.
Rush Limbaugh is his real name but it didn't click as disk jockey name so they made him adopt that fake name. It may have something to do with the 60s singer Lou Christie ("Lightning Strikes") being from the Pittsburgh area and thinking the name would be have some regional connection.
Watch the Pats pick up the kid from Northern Illinois.
No...Jeff Christie was a stage name. His name REALLY IS Rush Limbaugh.
The MajaRushie is very good friends w/ Art Rooney (the conservative son of Dan Rooney). Rush & Catherine do visit the Big Ketchup Bottle A few times during the season. The are entertained in Dan’s luxury box and they stay in the primo suite of Westin William Penn.
LOL, I don’t disagree at all! What I thought was hilarious was that cat-ate-the-bird smirk on his face!!!!
Busted right there!
1. US$100,000 fine and one-game suspension against Tomlin.
2. Steelers organization fined another US$100,000.
3. Steelers may lose their first-round pick.
Ouch.
Exactly right. He didn’t even try to conceal it.
I wonder if Nick Saban would have given a thought to doing the same thing if he were in position when Auburn ran back the FG....Of course it’s a moot point since the Auburn runner ran toward the Auburn sideline.
I guess we’ll never know, but I can’t say that I would be terribly surprised.
He’s not.
They should have just awarded the touchdown.
He should be fired. He’s an embarrassment to the NFL, never mind the Steelers.
Steelers lost all respect putting this clown in charge.
Calling him a clown seems a little harsh.
Miley now has more credibility than Tomlin.
Tomlin was not watching the screen, he was looking to his right out onto the field. The thing I find interesting is that he (apparently) assumed Jones would not level him, which could have seriously injured him. A Steelers player in pursuit could have as easily leveled him. If he did do it on purpose, it wasn’t very smart on his part.
Any other oldster FReepers remember the 1954 Alabama/Rice Cotton Bowl’s ‘12th. man tackle’? Check it out!!
