If youre thinking about buying your wife an AR-15 for Christmas this year but cant decide on which one, SIG Sauers new SIGM400 Muddy Girl may be the tactile rifle for her.
It comes in pink camouflage.
Pink firearms, bra gun holsters, concealed carry designer handbags, and femininized TASERs are just some of the ways firearms and self-defense businesses are marketing to a fast-growing consumer segment: women.

Ordinarily, I’d go to great lengths to see almost any good weapon. But I don’t think Forbes is the place to see one.
I hope to see Baretta follow this trend. Leave it to the Swiss to come up with such a gun. Every household in Switzerland MUST have an automatic rifle; it’s the law.
As long as the recipient is legally allowed to own a firearm, yes you can. Paperwork requirements vary. In most states, you can gift a gun to a spouse or child-over-18 who resides in the same state as you without paperwork.
This very much depends on the state in which you live and what the laws are on private transfers. The hoopla in Colorado was to a large extent based on how the law impacted those gifting transfers. It is a very old tradition to give people guns as gifts (hunting families have been doing it for ages). I’ve done it in the past myself.
So if you’re in a gun friendly state, say Wyoming, then I expect it would be perfect legal to go get a gun for your wife for Christmas. I wouldn’t try it in one of the gun unfriendly states.
I’d start with stocking stuffers for the kids. There are rechargeable stun guns on eBay starting at around $10.
Probably the coolest gift would be some knife-fighting lessons for the entire family. Most of the practical self-defense stuff could probably be put into a single lesson and lasts a lifetime, like learning to ride a bicycle.
For novice shooters, I’m a firm believer in bb guns, to get lots and lots of inexpensive range time. Then move up to .22 shorts and .22LR. Ease and comfort with those clears the way for larger calibers.

Tactile rifle??
Yup, it feels good.
Even here in CA we can gift firearms thru inter-familial transfers without going thru background checks or dealers. There is a form at DOJ for doing this online ($19) for handguns. Nothing is required when transfering a long gun.
I am female—and I’d be embarrassed to be seen with that thing.
Of course you can gift it, so long as the recipient would be legally able to buy directly.
I got yer "tactile" rifle right here, baybayyyyyyyy.
LOL! Any tactile disfunction? I must have missed that in the article.
I’ll take the pistol
My wife uses pink ear muffs at the range - she would not be so open to a “pretty pink gun”. She likes her trucks and weapons to have a utilitarian look/feel.
I wouldn't suggest you try it.......automatic weapons are banned.
In fact, there seems to be a lot of misinformation regarding Swiss gun laws floating around the cybersphere.......
Pink guns have a distinct advantage over regular guns because it’s a lot easier to shoot the bad guy when he’s so distracted from laughing at the gun.
When pink guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have pink guns.
