Paul Walker -- best known for his role in "The Fast and the Furious" movies -- died Saturday afternoon after a single-car accident and explosion in Southern California ... TMZ has learned.
The accident happened in Santa Clarita -- north of Los Angeles -- and according to multiple sources connected to Paul ... the actor was in a Porsche when the driver somehow lost control and slammed into a post or a tree ... and then the car burst into flames.
Several of our sources -- some who are still at the scene of the accident -- tell us Paul and another person in the car were killed. Law enforcement is still on the scene, and we're told the L.A. County Coroner's Office is on the way.

Sheer speculation on my part, but since Walker is so well known for the “Fast and Furious” movies, maybe the friend who was driving thought he could impress Walker with his driving skill, and pushed things too far. We’ll never know. RIP Paul Walker.
To: GreenHornet
the friend who was driving thought he could impress Walker with his driving skill,
The friend was himself a professional stunt driver......

This wasn’t a $100,000 run-of-the-mill Porsche 911 Carrera. This was a $500,000 600+hp 200+mph supercar. Fastest street vehicle Porsche ever made until maybe the new 918. Even stunt drivers don’t get much practice in cars like that!

Yes - a reporter named Hastings- makes no sense then, and it makes no sense now. Can’t have these “do-gooders” and truth-seekers taking attention away the Devil’s work.

The friend was himself a professional stunt driver. BS.
He was a fool.
Legitimate professionals don't do 85++mph in a 45, on a roadway lined with killer obstacles such as buildings, trees, light standards, and others moving at 45, etc...
That foolish unprofessional move cost both of them their lives.
Looking closely at the scene video by a passerby, it appears you can see one of the poor souls attempting to get out of vehicle, which was fully engulfed in flames.
