Sounds like a description of the lame stream media.
Because weak Conservatives support them by purchasing movie tickets, DVDs, concert tickets, and various music media.
There no money in average art or average music or average acting, unless the government steps in to help...
They have great imaginations. They are not burdened by reality.
Good method actors can make themselves believe a fantasy. The fantasy is real to them. This is also a trait required of Leftists.
if you think differently then answer why the trayvon bs was the top news story for months? why was everyone talking about that bs? that's news? that's important to everyone's lives? or would that story help advance the democrats anti gun agenda ? it's the latter . there are no news stories only event s that will advance socialism
news reporters are all democrat political activists. a socialist/democrat becomes a reporter in order to advance socialism (their religion). it's so that reporter can have a captive audience to listen to them evangelize ( the morons watching the TV news on tv think it's news but it’;s not it's political , a political sermon, a religions sermon. ) and it is a religion because the God of democrats is government and they don't believe in a God.. we are fighting a rabid cult that aims to turn the USA into a socialist state where the gov owns everything including all power over us. that's called socialism/marxism/collectivism. the individual has no right to own property, no rights at all , no freedom. only when you own property can you direct your own life. socialists want the state to redistribute all wealth , all property as they see fit. so similarly they took over other institutions, acedemia, the sciences, arts , gov schools etc., as they did the media to change the world , for socialism.
“naive idealists took refuge there.”

So do pseudo intellectuals. It makes them feel all warm and fuzzy.
They are “Style” over Substance. In truth they have neither.
The nail was hit on the head with the word, PERCEPTION.
As both a fiction and nonfiction writer in my time, I can tell you that a lot of libs parrot a lot of ideas, but cannot really come up with something poignant. As with younger speakers of the language today, a lot of half-finished expressions of thought were evoked, choked with the standard ‘ya know’, ‘like’, ‘understand’, or ‘it may be that’, instead of one complete sentence, with A verb and A noun, that makes sense. The very ‘perception’ that you, the listener, can decode what the speaker has just stated, and come to a solid conclusion, IS OF NO CONSEQUENCE to them! “So it was spoken, so let it be written!”

Is there some sort of artist ping list/hang out. I’d love to see what other people do who aren’t creepy/teenagers/like the people the post.
It’s amazing that they claim to be great supporters of the arts but everytime you turn around, some museum is in financial trouble or some artist is begging for money to complete a project. And then they complain about corporate greed, all the while accepting corporate sponsorship to show their work.
Clichéd response.
Why is it that many people here think "The Arts" consist only of visual arts like painting and sculpture? Are you not aware that "The Arts" also consists of literary arts, and performing arts (music, theater, movies/TV)?
There is art and then there is decor. Sometimes the two coincide, but more often not. Intentionally utilizing stylish color combinations in imagery that suits the current trend is the lifeblood of practically every artist, even up to the level of those with some regional fame and recognition.
The artist who completely refuses to accomodate popular tastes at an accessible price point in producing decor, but yet still manages to prosper, has invariably gotten the imprimatur of the progressive aesthetic elite, which leads to “public” art commissions. This art is almost uniformly bad but very political. It’s intended to offend the traditional. They hate everything about that.
Her description of liberal women reminds me of the feminist bookstore in the hilarious Portlandia series:

I was going to say the exact thing. Since you have said it, I’ll just agree.
I was talking to a married conservative in his antique shop in a trendy artsy part of town. A liberal woman customer came in dressed and looking exactly as described. The owner instantly transitioned into a flirty “gay” guy. She blew several hundred dollars on arty junk. After she left he looked at me apologetically and said, “If you’re dealing art and antiques on this street and you’re not overtly gay you’re not selling enough to stay open. Silvia is okay with the charade but it annoys the heck out of me.”
Undoubtedly that is true of many. However, it is also by design. The communtist play book is to take over the country by infiltrating all the instiutions, government, education, and especially the Arts for the propoganda purposes under the guise of entertainment.
“Why is it that many people here think “The Arts” consist only of visual arts like painting and sculpture? “
I think because we see in things like books and music artist that more generally reflect and strengthen out values. Also If someone is reading and offensive book in a doctors office I might not notice it but a painting would be noticed
The Liberal Arts have absolutely nothing to do with modern progressive politics, or with the fine and/or performing arts. This is an expression with its origins in ancient Greece. The Liberal Arts originally comprised grammar, rhetoric, and logic; later, the great medieval universities included arithmetic, geometry, music, and astronomy. These were the areas of knowledge that an educated man needed to study to train his mind and take part in civil society.
