Harry Reid just made President Obama a lame duck. With his triggering of the "nuclear option", he nuked any chances for any of Obama's legislative priorities through the 2014 elections.
Immigration "reform" -
Tax reform -
Any other Democrat priority -
Memo to McCain and Collins: how did that "reaching across the aisle" work for you? Ok, you two, repeat after me:
Ted Cruz is right!
Ted Cruz is right!
Ted Cruz is right!
2 SIMPLE WORDS for the US SENATE : NO QUARUM!
The fly in your ointment: Boehner.
Boehner is wobbly. We never know which side of an issue he will come down on.
If any legislation does make it to the Senate, the compromise committee will get the Senate-preferred version passed.
They never intend to be out of power.
Even Mika & Cokie appeared shaken on Morning Joe today.
The author under-estimates the Republican leadership!!
Socialists want as much majority rule power as possible when they are in charge, but then shut down democratic processes to maintain power. That has been their modis operandi for 100 years. This isn’t any different.
Now the question is, what is their 9 month game plan to secure power?
I don’t understand. How is this the case?
I'm betting yesterday's events will stiffen his spine. If not, the Tea Party caucus will make his life miserable.
Senate rules require a majority of senators (51) for a quorum.
The Dems have that, unless several Dems are absent.
I wonder how Boehner’s “there will be an amnesty vote this year” is working out for him.
Reid knows exactly what he did.
It’s my understanding that the judges that are up for Senate confirmation will be the ones to sit on cases involving Obamacare. The courts will be stacked to ensure Zerocare does not get dinged by the courts. Senate Dems are doing everything within their powers to keep this law in place.
The Republican “Leadership” cannot be under estimated.
IMHO, Harry Reid opened the Pandora's box for all to see. What's to stop him from exercising the option on "important" legislation, or the Supreme Court? 225 years of precedent was flushed down the toilet yesterday.
Therefore, it's up to the House of Representatives to stop the Senate in their tracks.
O/T, I brought the wrong book to read on the train today (Texas by Michener). Starting Monday, I'm reading "The Federalist" from cover to cover, and back again.
Communist dicktators are gonna dictate.
Agreed. Maybe he sees the handwriting on the wall, and is planning for his retirement starting next year. He hated being the Minority Leader in the Senate.
