A dating website for married people seeking affairs is dismissing a $20-million lawsuit as nothing but a frivolous claim by an opportunistic ex-employee.
Ashley Madison has issued a statement condemning the suit filed by Doriana Silva, who alleges she permanently damaged her wrists while typing up fake profiles of women for the site.
In the statement, the company says Silva is exaggerating her injuries in order to support demands for compensation that the company said escalated over time.
The company says it will not give in to what it termed extortion. It alleges Silva threatened to go to the press if her demands werent met.
But Silvas lawyer, Paul Dollak, denied the extortion allegation.
There was never any threat of doing anything other than starting a lawsuit, which one is lawfully entitled to do, he said in an email.
Silva said in her claim that she was asked to create 1,000 phoney profiles to lure men into signing up.
Serves them right.
Why didn’t she just get that “Dragon” speech recognition software? [snort]
It’s not up to website to “dismiss” the case, is it?
She’s just the wh*re, not the judge.
Couldn’t have happened to a bigger creep. I hope she wins a ton of money from them.
I got an email to join for free. So my wife and I set up profile. Every day for a week I would send my wife the “profile of the day.”
One day it was a 5’2” woman who was 300 pounds and who had a list of requirements two paragraphs long.
Any wonder why they are lonely?
I canceled my fake account after a week. It was getting a little scary in there.
It somehow satisfying when a con game gets scammed itself.
I personally know someone who runs one of those sites here in Hollywood. He’s in my circle. Tells me it barely makes any money as dating sites as for losers but one of his other sites for the “pay me when I take off my clothes” camera PPV paid for his new Benz AMG.
Holy crap. She looks like a zombie there, whoever that is.
LOL Vermont LT, that gal just might find out where you live!
Sounds like a weasel worded denial--why not just say what the employee was hired to actually do and state directly that she was not hired to make fake profiles?
Also...using the words "100 per cent authentic" for a site dedicated to people not being authentic is rather ironic anyway.
___________
Brazilian. They speak Portuguese, no? I once knew this Portuguese waitress....
***whoever that is.***
Why, that’s Ashley Madison!!!
LOL...I am going to start my own dating site and model it after that one!
“Braaaaaaiiinnnnsss.....”
Ashley Madison sounds like an old sponsor of the Charlie Brown shows. Actually I believe it was Dolly Madison. Either way Linus is not going to be happy about this.
ASHLEY MADISON sounds like bottom feeding scum (at least it would have been in years past) now this is “mainstream” still this idea and website gives me the creeps!
and its far from alone
